EXCELLENT TEAM 7:30 Newton Abbot 20/1 This is trainer Michael Blake’s local track and in hurdles here he has a 22% strike rate. He also has his horses in decent nick at the moment, the RP running to form figure is currently 71%. The selection is a C&D winner but that is no surprise. His C&D win was off a mark of 102 with todays jockey Tom Cannon in the saddle. He last ran here 11 days ago and it was a decent effort of 99. In here today off 96 I reckon the yard will be rubbing their hands with glee at the opportunity the handicapper has afforded them. Keep an eye on the market for Petrucci in the same race. Ii is down to the same mark as when landing a punt last summer!
Two for me tomorrow 3:45 Spirit Warning @ 11/1 This horse comes from a yard in form, and he has a couple of interesting angles to suggest that he is overpriced. He is a horse who likes running on artificial surfaces, being 3 from 8 on AW against 1 from 12 on turf, so the return to the surface is eyecatching. He also is drawn well in stall 2, and he is able to race with or behind the pace, which means he should be suited to being one back from the pace on this track. He also gets the visor on for the first time, which suggests that they are going to try and win the race tomorrow. Importantly though he is down to 85 in the handicap after finishing placed off 89 at Lingfield in February, so he is well handicapped, from a yard in form, a course winner, a distance winner and drawn well. What is not to like? Well from all of that you might expect him to be towards the head of the market, but he is available at double figure prices!!! 5:15 Julie Johnston @ 3/1 This is a price bet more than anything. I thought this horse would be under 2/1 and tomorrow she is 3/1. She ran in a Goodwood nursery last time and whilst finishing 5th, she did show plenty of early pace and was unlucky to be squeezed out of it and finished further back than she should. The key that day was that she was running back quickly after a good nursery win a week earlier. They've now given her a break and importantly she is likely to get an uncontested lead here. A fresher filly and one who is very dangerous from the front. I think she is overpriced and should take all the beating.
I’m keen on one tomorrow at Ripon - 4.00 Flying Pursuit horse is a C&D winner with 2 wins on soft ground here! Has won on soft at York aswell, horse looks well handicapped and does his winning round this time of year!
...127 which ironically is just below his RPR of 128. The money for the Tizzard runner is eyecatching
18:15 Hamilton - Viceregent e/w (Improving sort, should handle the very soft ground, and stamina seems to be assured on breeding. 6/1 best odds at time of writing.)

Magic Voice was gambled last time but was only 3rd. I think the return to a softer surface should help and if he settles better he should be thereabouts off a 1 lb lower mark. Still a maiden but two decent efforts in handicaps suggest he can win a race. Hopefully it's this one. 2.30 Ripon Magic Voice 11/2
Tame effort from Magic Voice. He seems to have his quirks, fly jumped at the start today. He simply found next to nothing when asked today and it looks like he will need some help from the handicapper now. I would suggest another 2 lbs off after today's show. Earlier Uncle Bryn made an impressive start. He was far enough back and at one stage Rab Havlin was almost standing up in his irons as if he was going to give up but the Sea The Stars colt started to stay on and worked his way through the field, ultimately claiming the other joint favourite Local Law with a bit in hand. Local Law ran like a dour stayer today, taking his time to establish himself but it looked like he was going to tough it out and win without being overly impressive but the Gosden debutante was finishing the better and claimed him by a lengthening 3 lengths. Surely a step up in grade for Uncle Bryn after that and it looks like he stays well. I would be thinking about the Zetland Stakes if he were my horse and I didn't want to fly too high this season. Bet365 introduced Uncle Bryn into the Derby betting at 40/1.
