Has anyone renewed their season ticket? My dad has renewed but didn’t realise supporters will not be attending matches any time soon. The club has not made this clear to him, really bad form IMO. They also didn’t give him any information on how to watch the games after lockdown and haven’t told him how he can see them until St Mary’s opens again! How are season ticket holders getting to watch the matches this season?
I’m not really sure the club can be blamed for someone not knowing when fans will be attending games, in these times of uncertainty. If your father is in a vulnerable position or needs some support in understanding current situation, that is unfortunate and I feel for him.
Not sure how he didn't realise, and the club did make it clear in the renewal announcement that they didn't know if/when fans could attend, and that they'd be refunded for any game they couldn't. Anyone whose renewed has essentially lent the club money imo. I'm just hoping they do the right thing and allow fans not comfortable about going to defer and not lose their seat. To answer your second question then it's looking likely that a live stream will be the only way for any matches not on TV. The club aren't exactly going to advise of an illegal way to watch the product.
I bought a season ticket and the club did make it clear they did not know when fans would be readmitted and any games that I couldn't attend would be refunded. As it is it's looking quite positive for an October return.
And the club have made it clear that all season ticket holders will be able to attend a game early on. They will do a ballot for the first home game that fans can attend and then the ST holders who didn't get drawn in that one will go to the next home game.
They've also made it clear that should a ST holder not feel comfortable going just yet, their names won't go into a ballot.
https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2020-08-28/southampton-fc-return-to-st-marys-ticketing-and-safety "Although the government guidance for people at high risk has changed and they are no longer being advised to shield, the club do understand that some fans will not be comfortable returning to matches just yet, even with all the mitigating measures in place. In this circumstance, there will be an opportunity to opt out of any selection processes for returning to initial matches with reduced capacities."
Tottenham have been drawn against Locomotive Plovdiv in the Europa League Qualifier. If you have never heard of them they are a team from North London who have not won the league for nearly 60 years.
I didn't get it either. Apparently if you log into your ticket account and select 'Update Profile' from the right-hand side then there's an option that needs to be selected to make sure that you get email notifications from the club on things such as this: Don't know what other crap you might start getting from the club once you've selected that option though
