Lol, not an alarm but a complicated home automation alert that even prevents my iPhone and watch from being on silent to alert me 10 seconds before 12
Two of my mates accidentally snorted some curry powder instead of cocaine and were both rushed to hospital. One is in a korma and the other has a dodgy tikka.
Thank you everyone for your kind words on me completing another revolution around our nearest star. Took me an extra day this year, but I am getting older
Here’s a question that is sure to get me shot!! is it legal for a cyclist to overtake a car that is travelling so slowly that it is holding it up? Yesterday I was riding down a hill and caught up with a learner driver who was clearly very new. I realised that it was probably uncomfortable for the driver with a bike behind, so I actually pulled in to the curb and waited for the car to go further ahead. When I set off, I caught the car up again so I just stayed way back and rode very slowly. It then pulled out of a T junction and I had to wait a awhile for my safe gap to pull out, but I caught it up again at the next village. There was an opportunity to overtake safely as the car was very slow and it was clear, but I didn’t do it as I thought it would be off putting for the learner. This just made me wonder if it was legal to do it? I don’t undertake either incase someone asks.
Cycles overtake cars when in cycling lanes in cities and the traffic is held up, so guess undertaking under those circumstances is legal. I suspect the circumstance that you found yourself in is pretty rare and you did the right thing by being careful and considerate....after all drivers don't always see motorbikes never mind the silent but deadly cyclist.
You wont want to ride your bike behind the very lovely Mrs Godders when she is out in her car then and she passed he test nearly 60 years ago! The bloody snails roar passed her when we are on the road. Male drivers glare at her and look sympathetically at me in the passenger seat as they deliberately toot and carve her up.
As far as I know it’s legal. After all, the same applies when there’s a queue of cars at a junction or traffic lights, and it’s OK for motorbikes or pedal cycles to overtake down the outside. Anyway, I overtook a car in a land yacht when I was about 8 years old, so it must be OK!
I'd much rather be behind the driver so I can see what they are doing, rather than in front worrying what they are doing.
Looked it up (thank you google)....legally cyclists can overtake slow traffic as it is the duty of the driver to watch out for passing traffic. As this was a learner, legal or not...better to survive than be dead and right.
