I'm genuinely finding this thread interesting and fascinating at the same time. Obviously we have had and still have issues with illegal immigrants/refugees in Australia as well. Interesting that the term Londinistan was originally coined by the French as they felt that the British Government were'nt doing enough to prevent Islamic terrorists from baisng themselves in the UK
People have called Bradford ‘Bradistan’ for years mate. It’s because people like the OP have issues with people from other cultures. No doubt that terrorism has caused huge problems and no doubt that political mistakes were made over the issue going back - but the numpties can’t seem to see that people being trafficked aren’t all criminals. In truth recent years have seen a huge increase in far right terrorists including members of the police, armed forces, east Europeans and kids from Wearside and Tyneside and the Islamist versions are predominantly born here. The migrant thing is a red herring to make thick people jingoistic.
A lot of terrorists are home grown nowadays, partly due (i believe) to social media and the need to be heard. I guess the real discussion is what exactly is a refugee? We all know that in theory it's someone seeking refuge from political, religious or gender persecution (I'm sure that there are others that i've missed in these days of labelling everything). I would have thought that a genuine refugee would be happy to be in the 1st place that afforded me safety from what i was running from and that raises the question of why some trek through numerous countries to get to the UK (through Europe obviously). We have a similar situation here where "refugees" will travel from the middle east through Asia and South East Asia to get to Australia. Why didn't they stop somewhere like Malaysia for example which is a Muslim country with the same beliefs. It comes down to the support that is afforded them when they arrive at their desired destination which is in part the problem. I also personally know refugees who travel back to the country they are seeking refuge from to attend a wedding or other family function. Sorry, if i was genuinely scared for my life i wouldn't be going back come hell or high water.

Tbh I don’t give a ****e about 4 Somalis. It’s irrelevant in the big scheme of things. I hope they do well here. The funny thing is I think it’s a good thing to reduce migration because I’ve met unaccompanied kids who’ve had a traumatic time. It’s how that’s the issues. Somalia/Somaliland are in conflict - the place needs support and intervention but the government have scrapped DFID who do this. People will travel if there’s conflict, hunger or corruption. It’s better we intervene there than here and keep their families together and stop them being hated by people like you but you also argued against intervention and foreign aid farther back so this is what we get.
