The thing people forget is that Poch is the reason we brought in Pini Zahavi last summer to do the legwork that the club usually did

Of course it's a complete coincidence that we spent £55m on a Zahavi client during that period...

The odds are that it would mean Ndombele heading to Lombardier climbs

The fact Inter are asking us to lower our asking price is begging for a Levying...

Due to have/ has had a knee op. Last thing we need to be doing is signing a striker who won’t be immediately available with all the early fixtures we have.

I think he'd be a good one but pretty sure he is recovering from an operation

    Bournemouth Striker Watch
The Express claim that we should all be on our doorsteps clapping the 23rd anniversary of Princess Di's death have agreed to meet Callum Wilson's wage demands of £75k per week

Barren Dent, meanwhile, claims that Josh King is the Bournemouth striker more likely to join us

Apparently Ajax are interested in Sess on loan so that could help Spurs with VDB

Personally still think he will end up at Utd

Definitely looking like Josh King is the front runner. His name is doing the rounds on Twitter a lot now, similar to how the Doherty talk intensified.

Edit: Just personal opinion this but it looks like his contract ends next summer too, so this would likely scream a bit of Levying. Wouldn’t be entirely surprised if we got him for sub £10m.

Less than a year left on his contract, can play more than one position, homegrown and experienced in the Premier League.
We've been linked with him in the past too, but his scoring record isn't exactly outstanding.

He'd be a definite improvement on absolutely nobody, which is what we've got now.
Looks like another in the same mould as our other signings this summer.
All from the same division and all available relatively cheaply.

Ha, I’d edited my post about the contract scenario before you replied, definitely some room for a bit of Levying I’d imagine.

Looks like he’s got a 1-in-4 strike rate at Bournemouth, not amazing, not terrible either.

I’m pretty happy with it should the rumours come to fruition. I’ve said already the “who” doesn’t overly bother me, just that getting a second striker in is pivotal, one that knows the league is a bonus.

Don't particularly rate him tbh but
    1. if that's who Maureen wants then fair enough
    and
    2. It is a **** load better than another season of no back up striker

For me it’s just about managing expectations.

We know we won’t buy a world class striker so it’s generally trying to strike that balance of someone who’ll be content to play second fiddle but still offer decent enough quality - and like you’ve said, it’s a damn site better than having no one at all.

Looking around in the Prem, Chelsea and City are probably the only two teams with good striker depth, Jesus for City and Giroud/ Abraham for Chelsea. Arsenal use their young lad Nketiah, Utd have Ighalo plus Greenwood’s on the scene, Pool have Origi, Leicester have Iheanacho, Wolves have... Not even sure actually. So I think all in all King would be “about right” with regards to the average quality of a backup striker in the league. We’re also placing hope that Parrott will develop well over the next season or two on loan, so King (if it is definitely him) will somewhat be a stop gap til Parrott’s fully ready.

I've seen King a few times and not just against Spurs. Mobile, physical, quick, a team player. Gets himself in good positions but isn't the best finisher but if under £10m, as others have said, better than no back up at all.
