Yeah, me too. Hope its sustainable and we are not gambling with the future of the club if this all goes wrong somehow.
My concern entirely. Need to establish ourselves in this division and this season might be Bielsa’s last at the club. All I hear is that he is the draw to the club for these signings.
We will be lucky, with cases going up again, and many bringing the virus back from holidays, can see more not less restrictions being the case.
Don't think it's any risk, sponsorship will have gone up big time, we will be on a lot of sky games at 1 million a game plus the £100 million from the TV deal.
Great article on Rodrigo and the things we can expect from him. Good tactical breakdown of him and where he operates best. https://medium.com/@allstatsarentwe/how-do-you-solve-a-problem-like-rodrigo-a616f0463177
I’m a bit worried from that article by how often he gets injured. But he sounds the sort of player Bielsa could get the most from.
You said: “We’ve got to try to stop worrying about infection rates unless they seriously start to affect hospitalisation and mortality rate, which they’re not.” I totally agree
We got promoted and everyone at the club and indeed even Phil Hay said the priority would be to buy experienced top Championship players or Premier League experience. Well hows that working out because just looking at midfield we see names like Harry Wilson, Ryan Kent, Buendia, Eze, Benrahama and guess what, only Eze has been bought because he was cheap and wanted to stay in London. All the rest are way over priced and nobody even talking to them yet. We tried Ryan Kent we were told Harry Wilson is £20m, we were told Benrhama was £25m and the same for Buendia. The only UK players we signed are kids and even then we paid the same price as we were paying for first teamers not long ago. So we bought top Internationals much cheaper and if we pull off the De Paul transfer its goodbye to Wilson and Kent and it may well be we say goodbye to Chambers or any other defender we are looking at as it seems we are looking abroad again for that.
Always thought we could do with a Coutinho type player and Lynsey looks like he fits the bill. Hope we get him.
I do hope there are some "get out" clauses in these contract. You know, just in case football is affected by COVID-19 again and we aren't able to get any money from SKY, as football isn't happening
Been looking at a few other forums and a couple of Italian based supporters are saying De Paul is an outstanding number 10 good enough to walk straight into any PL team including City and capturing him would outshine the Rodrigo signing.
