If that's the case does it turn you into a Burnley but with a larger stadium and fan base ?

No, it turns them into competitors. Jose is no novice mug.

Grafters and flair, all from the youth.

It's good he's shaking things up I guess.

Problem is though...if it doesn't work out and he leaves or gets sacked the transition is left looking all half cocked which could take years to recover from.

Are the fans willing to give Jose 3 years to work it out ?

Isn't that the same for any manager a club employs?
Yes you can have a DoF that decides what type of player you buy but in that case he should also decide which manager you employ to make the best of them.

What I'm saying is there will times of discontent due to a more pragmatic approach.

Fans will have to accept that it will probably be 2 seasons before you could even hope to challenge for the title.

Ah, now that's a different thing. If a club/fan base can see direction then they will usually go with it and hope it works out.
Will the Spurs board/fans give Jose that time? I think they will.

I don’t see why not. As long as there’s results I think most should be happy to give him time, applies to any manager too really.

It’s only the soft sentimental ****s in our fanbase that cry and boohoo that he’s our manager because he managed Chelsea. A lot are on board with him from what I’ve seen.

Don’t even think most of us expect to challenge for the title to be honest mate. We just wanna be competitive again and ideally win a trophy or two, no secret our trophy haul has been a shambles. Ever since the end of 2017 we went on a steep decline, the CL final paved over way too many cracks in the team.

That's an admirable attitude...please remember it when you've witnesed a dull draw or defeat.

Honestly, I think you'll improve and eventually do well, however patience will definitely be required.

Something that gets overlooked as well is our football under Poch for like the last 12 or so months of his tenure was woeful. Couldn’t string two passes together and were basically praying Son and Kane or Eriksen before he downed tools would bail us out. So Jose’s football, whilst not being overly exciting, has actually been an improvement as you can see a proper game plan. Bergwijn’s gonna excite a lot of fans, he could prove a bargain at £22m and the signings this summer so far have been pretty impressive, if not glamorous.

Mate we’re Spurs not Real Madrid, dull draws and defeats ain't a rarity for us regardless of who the manager is lol.

I’m pretty optimistic about Jose anyway, not expecting miracles like but think we could be a bit of a force again, instead of the sad sack we’ve been for about 2 and a half years.

Guess I'm just too used to all the drama amongst the Leeds faithful if we don't win 5-0 every week :emoticon-0102-bigsm

You've never really been in the running mate...You had one chance, and flopped big time, coming 3rd in a 2 horse race.
