I think it was was piracy, murder and a reluctance to pass it personally

I think it was a lack of commitment to the deal by the Saudis tbh.

No way they lead that bid. Staveley spent beards selling the idea to them. They were never all that arsed and proved it by doing one.

I don't think so because covid 19 happened before it went to the premier league... I would've expected that to end it, but it didn't, however after 4 months of bad press, oil becoming worthless and news of a second wave they thought **** this.

I think the bad press killed it. They’re a massive company and were being dragged through the mud by a ****ty little company.

If they were buying United then I’d imagine they’d have weathered the storm and eventually been approved.

They'll probably come back and buy a top 4 club no bother in a year or two...

Probably wouldn't have been a storm. The papers would have lots of huge stories about how it could transform Man Utd again and fill pages with interviews with old players. There's not as big a story in it with Newcastle so focus has to be elsewhere. My experiences with journalists are that those with integrity are the absolute minority and the majority are simply looking to sell the biggest angle on any situation they think they can.

More to the point man united are already man united, so it's just man united getting more money... That doesn't concern its like what's new, but a club like newcastle getting it caused a tidal wave of concern and that lead to nothing but objection.

The PL never rejected it. They walked away because there is nothing worth investing in.

Well that goes against your earlier post, that without relegation they will be back for Newcastle. So why would they not buy a top four club and plump for a small time Newcastle with no global reach?

what idea, they said it wasn’t a worthwhile investment.
The PL didn’t have to reject it.
