A Polish man has woken up after being in a coma for 19 years. Among the changes in that time:

    • the fall of Communism in his country
    • food no longer rationed in Polish shops
    • people walking around with mobile phones
    • well stocked shops

Pole wakes from 19 year coma

His main gripe is that, despite all the great new things his people have, they do nothing but moan to each other.

  2. Change the Polish bit to East German and isn't that the plot to "Goodbye Lenin"?

Well that's ****ing weird. You're right, the date stamp on the article is 2007, but I got the link from the 'Most popular in news' section on the main BBC news page. <yikes>

If he'd woken up in Glasgow he wouldn't have noticed the difference.

Fat burds and skinny neds in tracksuits, drinking buckie and pushing a pram.

  9. Don't be daft - that's where you stash anything you've knocked <ok> - so, actually, probably a carry-oot
