You could probably learn your scales, just by watching a couple of vids like that. Thing is, it makes it easier to remember as well, because my brain is better at remembering how certain songs are played, than trying to get the old memory bank to remember certain scales. I used to say to my tutor, just quickly show me...oh yep, I remember that, same as the David Bowie song...my brain has weird ways of remembering stuff <laugh>

Used to hate scale practice but it does help you understand the relationship between the notes.

First came across them when I saw their set on Whistle Test in about 1975. Used to stay up and watch that show on school nights, with my dad. Skynyrd had been on tour in Britain and Europe, promoting the album Gimme Back My Bullets. I was blown away by them, went out and bought that record with the proceeds of my football pools collection round. Happy days.

I've never really took much notice of it, despite hearing many times. But for some reason i sat and watched the whole thing, and enjoyed it.

They’ve got a bit of blues, bit of country, bit of rock n roll, bit of heavy rock.

You know the Allman Brothers? If you like Lynyrd Skynyrd, you’ll probably like them too

No idea who Marcus Nimbler is, but he certainly has a knack of making pleasant on the eyes videos, often alongside a good tune.

    I know nothing about chords.

But as for vocals, i like what i like, and for me this fella is the best ever.

A rare video, spot something missing?

Quo from memory - can't even recall the Sunday as took Black bomber all day Friday and Saturday, and passed out for most of the Sunday.

ahh Festivals in the 70s - loads of drugs and hardly any police presence, but no proper toilets and catering was the burger van, at least tickets cost **** all.
