Tune travel? Do they have piped music on trains down there these days?

I'd take the cheaper option and listen to my ipod if I were you :)

Morning all from Paris, had a great week travelling round the south west of France found a lovely place about 60kms SW of Bordeaux right on the coast so peaceful and quiet. Will be looking to going back there next year:) I have one more week over here, which will include a 1,000 mile round trip to Germany not looking forward to the drive but it will be worth the effort to see the other grand daughter for the first time in my case;) Anyway must go and have another wander round the local street market and get some fresh produce for our meals!

Thanks, i do like finding pretty pictures. I am feeling a little better, still streaming but less of the headache.

Morning all, a fresh morning today with a light mist on the ground. Its warming up as time goes on and looks to be a scorcher again. Highs of 28/29 expected.

Morning All, Weather as normal, reckon that we will be up in the 30s again this afternoon.

Glad you had a good trip down to the SW AL, it seems that whenever we go travelling around the country we find places that we want to return to and often do.

Off to the recycling centre this morning as I have a large collection of metal objects to dispose of and I keep tripping over them. So far only a little blood has been spilt.

Just watched that game, much closer than the score suggests, if only the Samoans could hold on to the ball in the tackle. The Welsh will be happy though as that means they are through to the QF's. Now for Scotland to turn over the Auld enemy and WFC to win at Soton, well I can hope<laugh>

Much too hot to try anything energetic, so thought I would draw to your attention a couple of snippets from Centre Presse that you might have missed.

The last time I was tempted out for a walk it was very civilised. Start at 9.00am, walk about 2 miles down some green lanes, before stopping for breakfast in the shade of a leafy glade at 10.00am. An hours break for that, then we went on our way for a further 3 miles before we arrived at a chateau for a full blown dinner. After wine twice in one morning, yes it was provided at the breakfast, we waited for the cars to arrive and take us back to our starting point. The company was good and there was plenty of time to notice the things around us in the countryside.

The first item from the paper is about 3,200 people who went walking last Saturday around Millau in l'Aveyron, the place where the famous bridge is and a very hilly part of the country. My suspicion is that they did not look upon it as a social event as it was 100 kms long. The first man home took 10h 02 mins and the first woman 10h 29min. Not really an event to be enjoyed, some were out there for 19 hours.

The second headline to catch my eye was,"Allo, Monsieur le taxi c'est pour mon chein." This story is about one Yohan Fradin, 23 ans, it always helps to have a persons age, who has spotted a market to take peoples cats, dogs and even fish to "Chez veto" or "Chez le toiletteur" though what they will do to a fish in a poodle parlour requires some imagination.
Our enthusiastic M.Fradin has so far successfully delivered, apart from the above, rabbits, birds and snakes to airports and railway stations as well as the vets.

Next time I fly with Ryanair I will be certain to make sure that I don't have a snake strapped in the seat next to me. :(

Also saw the funniest thing the other day when returning to the apartment, there was a tramp sitting on a bench and his pet of choice was a guinea pig<yikes> I have seen plenty of tramps with dogs and the occasional cat but a guinea pig?
I have been amazed in paris at the amount of people who actually own dogs in Paris, just a shame they do not clean up after themselves:( Also in the neighbourhood where my wife works, there are two Doggy day-care places<yikes> (A nursery for dogs) and round the corner from her place is a shop that sells dog prams, and puppy carriers etc etc. Totally over the top!

Madonna has a lot to answer for <laugh> its because little dogs are seen as a fashion accessory and the Frenchies do like their fashion and being trendy!

What!! So it's not just the dogs who do it in the streets - the people do it too? <yikes>

So the rumours I've heard about the French are true.
