Id expect he’d be delighted at the fact we’ve played 3 won 3.

that shows how much the bloke knows about football.

we may have the nucleus of a decent team but this bloke can’t use them properly.

I don’t even thinks he knows his best team. And if that includes Wyke and Flanagan then we’re ****ed.

If Grigg finds his scoring boots, we'll be top two imo. If he doesn't, we're play offs at best as no way is Wyke good enough for a promotion chasing team.

Most teams rely on a single striker to get them goals tbf and any team struggles when their forwards aren't scoring. Agree we need to have more of a cutting edge though as we didn't score any where near enough last season. Hopefully O'Brian helps out a bit there and Neil looks like he can pick out a good forward pass. Add Diamond into the mix and I think there's a bit more creativity in the squad than we had last year but we still need someone to hit th eold onion bag on a regular basis and Charlie Wyke is not that man. We desperately need Grigg to find some goal scoring form imo, a lot resting on his shoulders this year and he needs to get his molotov on the go.

Baring miracles, and buying a ready made 20 goal a season striker, we have to build a team around Grigg and hope he is up for it. You have identified two of our worst performers, and unless we see a marked improvement from Maguire, Gooch, and Power (all 5 players favoured by PP) our best hope is another Wembley lottery. Sometimes a manager has to make a tough decision as his "plan A" looks a non starter.

Wyke, Flannagan, Maguire, Gooch, and Power -- that's a really big dog house you have there!

Here's my take on the squad so far:

Wyke, Flannagan, Maguire, Willis and Dobson are playing below last season's standard.
Hume, Gooch, O9 and McLaughlin are on par
Power and Grigg have stepped up.

I'm wondering what your team sheet would look like for next Saturday?

My biggest concern is if we play both Willis and Wright w/o Wyke, then we will be vulnerable on set pieces.
This is why we need to sign the big guy from Switzerland.

I thought Maguire was poor yesterday. I lost count of the times he lost the ball or gave it away and he seemed well of the pace. As for Power, I've never understood why gets in the team, he runs around a lot but achieves very little. He has the occasional screamer of a shot at goal, which usually ends up in row Z

Powers a good character he’s constantly trying to arrange the midfield if you watch him closely, he’s always vocal and a decent leader imo.

On the Firepower and Goal Threat thread Southern Adam says he would play this team:
    Burge
    Willis-Wright- Flanagan / Xhermajli
    O’Nien-Power-Scowen-Hume
    Neil-Maguire
    Grigg
With Gooch and O’Brien and eventually Embleton and Graham able to come on as attacking options.
I think this is as good as it gets for now but for me its not a top two team tbh.

The match against Hull will give Parky a better understanding of not only his best 11 but which formation is best suited Parky prefers 343 but we now have wing backs and 433 would be the better option after watching the game again i think it was crying out for 433 and that Neil is going to be a cracking player very good signing. however for Parky to play the better squad it will put some players noses out of joint which could end up like McGeady shenanigans time will tell roll on the season

oh and Wyke is ****e and not fit for purpose.
