Always thought Swifty was a fantastic footballer ,if we could get him for close to 4 million I believe we would walk this league.
Slightly less inspiring but probably a sign of the cash being made available........................... https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2020/08/...hip-rivals-for-player-pulis-called-fantastic/
Looks a bit of a gamble as someone who has not yet matched expectations. Reading between the lines QPR appear in the driving seat with cash to spend from Eze's sale to Palarse and Warburton's rep for bringing on youngsters.
29 year old Aaron Mooy leaving Brighton to sign for some Chinese club. Been a bit injury prone in recent years but would still be awesome in the Championship. But hey ho money talks louder than ambition.
My man of 4 years ago when he was playing for Melbourne City in Oz before sister club Man City brought him over here. He was/is an answer to our shortfall in midfield back then and now - opportunity missed.
I thought the same Sparks. He is that good Tomlin would be cover for him. Signed by Shanghai for "an undisclosed sum". Made 32 appearances for Brighton last season but a lot off the bench.
I see Reading have just signed Ejaria from Liverpool permanently. Played on loan last season in midfield with Swift. Both too similar and more evidence that Swift could leave this window. Whether we've got the ambition let alone the dosh to realistically compete for him is the question, but what I was told yesterday could have some legs.
I dont think we're that far off a competative top 6 side sparkey. An inspired signing could open that up to top 2. Its a no 10 that could make all the difference. Need to get one or two off the books though.
WoL have an annoying habit of leaving on their website articles several months old. They really should get their act together.
Can't say I have ever really noticed Swift when playing against us unlike Ejaria who was almost unplayable in the thrashing we took away at Reading. Could be that Swift's work helped create the space for Ejaria to operate. Swift has good stats with few injury absences in recent seasons. I don't know how much they would want for him but £4m seems a bit excessive. We have done some shopping at the Madjeski in recent years with Morrison and Bacuna so why not again? Another feeder club like the Wurzels. How much did they pay for Ejaria?
Undisclosed but I think they were obliged or had an option to buy him as part of his loan deal from Liverpool. As far as Swift is concerned, I think Reading have turned down a 4 mill approach from Sheffield Utd but there were few strings attached that they didn't like. Also there was no guarantee that Swift would get much game time with the squad they've already got up there so he wasn't keen personally.
It is alleged that city want £1M for Etheridge. A fraction of what was touted a year or two back. We need shot of one keeper, so money in the bank and a wage saved.
Would have thought £2m to £3m more realistic but I would settle for £2m for a proven Prem quality keeper.
I got a tad excited when I read City eyeing a Wolves “star” but deflated when it related to a kid who hasn’t played for Wolves but a few games on loan at Cardiff last season https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-join-race-27m-18865746
True and apparently minus12 points Wendies, Rotherham and T'udders are interested as well. Surely his choice is very simple. A side with the intention of pushing for promotion or 3 relegation fodder teams. Typical crap WoL reporting.
He would be for the other 3 teams mentioned. I would still like him to come to us. He and Desmond would provide good competition and inspiration for each other. Plus they can both cover other positions.
