Damn. I thought it was going the highlights We were coming home from NZ We’d been winning before we left, lost every game when we were away and got on another winning streak when we came home starting with this one when we were almost home
Do we have a sell on fee if this happens? Senegal forward Sadio Mane, 28, is open to leaving Liverpool and rejoining former Southampton boss Ronald Koeman at Barcelona. (Mundo Deportivo, in Spanish)
‘Fine’ might be putting it a bit strong. His problem is, he can look competent, even assured, for 87 minutes. Never for 90. Can do a lot of damage in 3 minutes.
Yeah, fair few times last season he had a decent game and then completely switched off - only for a moment - but it cost us a goal. I wonder if he did this sort of thing in the Bundesliga? Would be interesting to hear from someone who had watched him before.
You mean like champions league winners and premier league champions. That came out like sick in my mouth.
The links with kris Ajer are interesting. We need a DM and he’s apparently doing good at CB. That positional flexibility might be a good fit for us.
It was the nature of the errors that got me. Misjudging the flight of the ball, letting the ball bounce over him. Losing possession when way up front. Just so basic, have to expect more from a PL player.
We all have our own opinion of them as a club but lets not kid ourselves, they have been brilliant as you say. However, if Barca or Real come calling we all know it changes things as. Look at the likes of Beckham, Owen, Suarez, and probably the best example: Ronaldo. They were at huge English clubs, winning or challenging for the league every season, winning the champions league - yet they wanted out as soon as the Spanish giants turned up. Not hard to see why either: They are huge clubs, Guaranteed to win trophies Can pay highest wages in the world Get to play with best players in the world and to be honest, where would you rather live as a multimillionaire footballer... Manchester/Liverpool or Madrid/Barcelona?!
I saw this Online, this morning. Don’t know anything about him but felt a tad nervous when I read he was 6ft 6ins, and my thoughts turned to Vestergaard and his immobility. Has anyone watched him?
This from the Beeb. "Senegal forward Sadio Mane, 28, is open to leaving Liverpool and rejoining.... ..... former Southampton boss Ronald Koeman"... I must admit my first glimpse and my heart leapt a bit!.
Ajer is an odd one. A tall, ball playing centre back. Similar to Stephens, most saw him as a midfielder but he found his home at CB. He hasn’t played in midfield at all this season, I’m trying to find out how often he was used there last year. It looks like he hasn’t been used there since a loan to Kilmarnock in 2016. I’d be surprised if he was signed in order to restore him to being a midfielder, but if you’re building a 4-CB stable of interchangeable parts then Bednarek/Salisu and Stephens/Ajer. Is pretty spot on. Thing is, Celtic are desperately short on money due to Covid and they’ve already had a few very public attempts to raise extra money from fans and Lennon has said that every player there has a price. Not making the CL groups will cost them more than ever. They’ll be actively hoping to sell some of their more valuable players (Ntcham, Ajer, Edouard etc.), and we’ll be linked to all of them because historically we’ve shopped well in that store.
My boss, a Celtic fan, who I consider very knowledgable about football thinks Edouard is as big a prospect as VVD when he left Celtic. Doubt we will be in for him due to cost and position not being a massive requirement, interested to see where he goes.
Oh I’m not saying we’re in for any of them. But our name will be associated with lots of them. Edouard is very, very promising. Low maintenance personality and a high-output player. If he makes the right next move he’ll be really something.
