So stop putting up those nasty posters because if they say they are reducing the price that's exactly what they'll do. That's how men of principle operate. They never go back on their word. It's absolutely nothing to do with holding out for a bigger price. I don't know where we would be without them.

I nearly choked on my tea when I read that bit.

The real asset was the land around the ground available for development

What land around the ground, there's hardly any free land around the stadium?

Would the council consider selling the ground to a new owner if it helped the club be sold.
Would that attract any potential buyers even though the asking price for the club is still high

I dread to think of the resulting wrath of the Allams if they realise the council will sell the stadium to another buyer (apart from them). They would probably double the asking price.

Still Not as much as the uproar there would be from some residents of Hull who do not go to City or FC about them selling "their" stadium.

I know they said it then, just thought with the connection to the Allam out posters they had said something recently. Never mind.

HCC didn’t build Craven Park, they already co-own it with HKR, it’s a ****hole and nobody would care if HCC flogged their bit.

The KCOM is obviously more controversial, as it cost the Council £44m and is home to two clubs, but a deal could still be done if the terms are right.

In the same, or another, interview didn't he say "x" "with add-ons?

If only was as simple as that. If, a big if maybe, I heard right about the add-ons, who knows what a sale contract would look like. I refer to the Membership agreement as an example

Do you mean the sacred fair ground? The only green space om Anlaby Road, West Park,? The corporate, freebee's car park, or the space for two caravans?

Yes, a developers dream, looking north or south along Walton Street. But not all that you survey looking along that street forms part of the SMC lease agreement.

I wonder how much money the KC has bought to the city over the years?

Own or part own, it is still a council 'asset'. If the ratepayers of Hull had to vote on any possible sale of the KC ( Council leader, Steve Brady) because the council dare not make a decision then the ratepayers should vote on any possible sale of Craven Park. What is the difference ? The sale of CP and surrounding land is deemed necessary to so HKR can become self substainable. Which is exactly the arguement put forward by the Allams when the purchase of the KC was first muted. But that was shouted down and ridiculed. How do you know that no-one would care' if HCC flogged their bit ? Do you live up there ?
It is also far more then a 'bit' and considerably more valuable since Siemens moved up there. It is also a glaring case of double standards on HCC's part.

If the council sold the ground they should make sure they make a profit on it or ensure that it can only be used for sport.

Why don't they offer a 500 year lease on it ? I could understand it if HCC had plans in place of there own for the stadium and surrounding area but they obviously don't because not a single brick has been laid, not another job created and not a penny of outside investment has come in since the it was built. Adam Pearson hit the same brick wall when he wanted to build the casino/hotel on the site and was knocked back. At the time HCC said they had plans of their own to build a similar project in the city centre......still waiting for that one.
Pearson, the Allams or anyone for that matter will obviously want to build on any investment they make when buying the club, bricks and mortar investment, in exactly the same way that HKR want to do at Craven Park. Again, I don't see what the difference or opposition to it is, especially when HCC haven't a bean to do anything themselves.

Can you name any other nearly 20 year old stadiums which are worth more than when they were built? The cost of the KC was £44 million but that included infrastructure and stuff around the stadium. So what would you suggest the stadium be sold for.
