I think it is a real shame that his stupidity undoes some very good things he has done. He has spoken out brilliantly about mental health and racism yet gave an interview in the Sun which has been exceptionally racist and it has a long history mocking those with mental health issues like Frank Bruno for example. I think his comment about UEFA and FIFA fining clubs and Nationsl FAs less than he would spend on a night out was so poorly thought out it was embarrassing. He moaned about not being paid his worth but saw nothing wrong in saying he mates could spend 10-20k on a night out. Imho Rose's indiscipline in giving that interview and the lack of a disciplineary response affected the team. Why worry about slagging off your team mates and new recruits if you are going to continuously be picked. Pochettino dealt with Adebayor, Lennon, Kaboul and Townsend for not buying into the team plans but Rose was just welcomed in. His attitude, on and off the pitch towards the club and fans has been **** since then. For me he is no better than Walker.
I don’t think Rose affected the team to be honest. Davies actually had a great season for us whilst Rose was injured for the most part after that interview. We still finished 3rd too, just one spot lower than the previous season and we were at Wembley so I don’t think Rose can be blamed for anything on the footballing side, ultimately our team just began declining from around that period. Walker’s also worse for me because I personally get more pissed off over footballing matters with a player. I view Walker as a snake, whereas I just view Rose as naive. Handing in a transfer request before the season is finished when the team were flying was a bitch move, likely affected the manager’s decision making with selections. No issue with a player that wants out but handle your business at the end of the season, not during it.
Sounds like eze has signed for palace for 20 million we should have got him for peanuts a couple of seasons back
Yeah he has, great signing for them. Quite surprised he’s gone there though, could very much likely play for a top ten side.
Ha! My 82nd was on the 16th! (We share a birthday with Madonna, amongst others! Yay![???] Also the day Elvis died.........) Happy (belated) birthday wishes to all you fellow-Leos!
One good thing to come out of the pandemic is most kit manufacturers are making away kits distinct from home kits for this season, so there's less of that third kit bollocks going around
The ideal would be Suarez but surely his massive wages would be a non goer. I'd settle for Costa though. I'm sure Jose could get the best out of him.
And happy belated birthday to you too! Never met anyone who shared my birthday. The only one I know of is an actress called Saskia Reeves who was actually born on the same day in the same year as me. Always hated Elvis for stealing my birthday though, it never fails to get mentioned.
