Feels like the good old days when we used to watch the champions league results and cheer Celtic to lose so we could complete our squad for the season. Sad, not sad.

Which of our squad was a solid top 6 player before Ralph arrived Tom? Not having a go but seriously, not one IMO.

I don't disagree that either of them is Top6 quality now. ...

Anyway, I was making the point that having only proven yourself in the championship or been **** under 2-3 managers doesn't mean that you've reached your ceiling.

Loads of people were saying that JWP is not good enough for us two years ago. Just saying.

I think we need a defensive midfielder and another centre back. As to who we should sign I haven't a clue. I don't have access to the famous black box and I don't play any of those football manager games as I live in the actual world. But given my ignorance I will trust Ralph to make sensible purchases.

Absolutely. We all feared relegation because the time that was what we were - a championship side.

Stephens, Bednarek, Salisu, Vestegaard are more then enough options at CB. Definitely a CDM light though.

Agreed, I'm happy with those 4 options going in to the season, Vestergaard will offer utility against the big sides too.

Using the logic that Ralph can make anyone good and we didn’t have anyone capable of top 6 suggests we shouldn’t be getting rid of anyone.

I’m looking forward to Carillo joining Danny on 20+ goals next season :emoticon-0105-wink:

Ralph is like a fantastic chef

Give him the right raw ingredients and he’ll produce something delicious

Give him a Pot Noodle and he’ll produce ...
    a pot noodle

It’s a shame you two didn’t team up in your younger days eh? <laugh>

Leicester thought to be looking at Matt Targett as a replacement for Chilwell.

I've nothing against the bloke personally but I'm always concerned when I see Big Vester named in the starting XI. He is not going to improve at his age and appears to be too slow for the English game, his decision making and reactions are suspect too and to be honest he is not that great in the air either.
I would liken him to Fraser Forster with his confidence crisis and the way I felt when he was selected then.
I know that we had no right to keep Maya and hold him back but I would've been much happier to have him among our CB ranks than Vester.

Vestegaard is fine in a back 3/5 (as we were playing when we signed him)

but he’s woefully exposed in a back 4.... as shown by the fact he was outpaced by Billy Sharp last game!
