"Meh" whatever happens - for me. I'm looking forward to the game, but the trophy is rather meaningless as far as I'm concerned. But you probably already knew that.
Chilwell is a decent LB, it's a problem position for Chelsea, and they have money to burn. I expected the market to be deflated this year with Covid - but with Chelsea splashing the cash and other clubs planning to do so, it's sort of reacting like the stock market. The big players who are prepared to sustain big debts are buying the premium stocks/players, and that is stopping the market free-falling. Be intriguing to see how this plays out over the next few years, especially as relaxing FFP (rightly, in my book) appears to be playing the same role as the Fed taking measures to prop up the market. Got to be said, IF the big, debt defiant clubs flashing their wads around filters down through the system, it isn't such a bad thing. Not for us, but I ain't going to lie and say I wish we didn't have a sugar-daddy right now. Then again, I'd rather be in our position of being the target being chased than those having to catch up.
I agree with some of this and some I don't. Rather than addressing each point I will just take the one that stood out most to me and say that I don't want a sugar daddy owner. It goes against everything I love the club for. People will say we bought the league anyway because of what we spent on the two players who moved us from near the top to the very top. Let them say it. It isn't true. You need to speculate to accumulate, as the saying goes but we didn't buy the league, nowhere near. The days of cloth caps and rattles are over but the club still beats with fans hearts.
Clinton is always on the BBC radio shows of a weekend and I completely agree, he's absolutely garbage. I honestly couldn't care less what pundits look like as long as they are coherent, smart and don't have some ridiculous cockney accent. I don't think other people care either. The likes of Ferdinand, Wright, Henry, Richards, Cates, Logan, Scott or Woods show that people just listen to knowledgeable people irrespective of appearance. Shows need refreshing to have less of the dinosaurs more than anything but there's plenty of good choices without resorting to Owen, Mills, Savage, Jenas or Hargreaves ffs.
That's the least of his problems tbh. Great news for United though, can't play him for a few weeks now
Cana few of our players catch corona after Saturday so they unfortunately need to miss the friendly matches before then being ok for the following weekend matches.
BREAKING: According to The Times, the Saturday 3pm TV blackout will be lifted when the 20/21 season starts, meaning that possibly all Premier League games will be televised!
Harry Maguire on the events that happened in Greece: "They were wearing plain clothes, I thought we was being kidnapped, they started hitting my legs saying my career was over, no more football, you won’t play again. I was fearing for my life.” BBC News Bit **** if true...
He thought his sister was attacked so he kicked off. But then she seemed better 5 minutes later so no need to take her the hospital. Then he thought he was being kidnapped so he did a runner and left her behind. He was fearing for his life so he called his agent. Least believable interview since Prince Andrew. Plus if he really didn't think they were police he'd say "sorry, I didn't know you were police", not "I refuse to apologise because at the time I was scared and my conscience is clear".
Maguire: "They hit me a lot on the legs." *does an interview in shorts showing no marks on legs* please log in to view this image
Much as I enjoy anything that embarrasses Utd, my schadenfreude doesn't run to the extent of someone being physically abused or terrorised. Like I said I'll reserve judgement for now.
