    Fee’s about right I’d say.

The initial quotes were probably high because papers were likely basing the potential fee on what Leicester got for Maguire. Didn’t take into account that when Woodward comes calling teams know there’s an extra 50% going in their pocket.

If fat Frank gets it right you boys could be a real problem.

Doesn’t sound the right money given it seems you’re about to sign Doherty for circa £15m

Mate that’s a tragic comparison, lol.

Eriksen always been league’s above. Reason we ditched Gylfi was because he didn’t wanna remain Eriksen’s backup. Couldn’t believe it when Everton paid £40m a couple years later. Decent player don’t get me wrong but nothing more than that.

5 or 6 year age gap though.

I’ll be well happy if we get Doherty, especially for that fee, not a glamour signing but an instant upgrade on Aurier.

He’s a very good player, a bargain at that kind of money. I’m amazed they’re selling him tbh.

i dunno. He ran a game once at Anfield playing for Swansea. Not one misplaced pass, as I remember. A sort of slow Coutinho that day. May have been about five years ago, tbf.

I’d imagine he’s there purely to Marshall the shambles into a defence. We will get a very good year out of him.

And yet Man Utd still couldn't finish within 30 points of Liverpool.

Was that because your forwards were crap or because your defenders were crap?

Do we need to literally only play with 10 men to give Ole a chance of competing next season?

Can I have a summery of who bought who please?

Chelsea have spent about £200 million on half a team
Liverpool have spent £12 million on a left back
Who have City, Utd,Spurs and Arsenal bought?

    Cheers

I was okay with us signing Chilwell, just as long as it wasnt for a ridiculous fee like £75m +, like when United got raped for Maguire.
"Yeah, but but, Van Dijk cost this much so....."
Yeah but you are forgetting one major difference, Van Dijk is ****ing awesome, and Maguire is meh.

£45m for an English international fullback is a decent deal imo.

Apparently Thiago Silva is now a done deal.

Thanks mate. Chelsea have really been on the boil getting their **** done early, no messing about. £ity have done a bit, Ake the highest profile buy but no one else seems to be spending atm.

Chelsea, I think, have done it right. Know your targets, Get it done early then you sort your team and tactics...smart.

If Lampard can get the team playing as a cohesive unit, we should be in for a decent season, one hopes.

Am surprised none of the bottom half clubs have not snapped up Nathaniel Clyne.
He was released on a free this summer, for a team like Leeds or West Ham, he'd be a great free signing, plenty of PL experience.

yeah sorry it was a pretty poor attempt at a pun but hey .
That is certainly the rumour and is why we loaned him out to Bournemouth even though he was the only designated FB cover we had .
