Have you seen Mad Max Fury Road? That's one of his. Takes a few minutes to get going but one of my favourite films. Not sure whether it's your thing though.

I did watch the original karate kid the other day, still enjoyable.

 

It's 2014. Same director as the originals but a different film imo. Modern technology really did improve the look and feel of it.
