Agree, why do we want Kent, especially at that money, if he was £3m coming to the end of his contract kind of deal then ok but 2 CB,'s and a proper LB are more a priority. Koch/Foyth plus a LB and if there's money left in the pot, cover for Klich and Phillips
Morning all. Understandable as it can upset certain types of player. But the team (squad) have received their rightful bonus for earning promotion and now have a crack at the Premier League. If they grab their chance and prove they can make the step up then surely they will be rewarded with better, improved contracts in future. If Rodrigo (or any other big earner) comes in they'll be earning what they are perceived to be worth, it's up to the rest of the team to show that they deserve similar rewards. Are there really any players in our squad that believe they are worth anywhere near a Spanish international right now ?
Have to agree priorities as you have posted. For me it's all about team balance and having the right quality. Move on the surplus stock while their ratings are still high. Alioski could do a job for hudders on a loan move.
We will get the chance to see how they go in the EFL Cup soon mate, although not had much Bielsaball training yet Hearing that the medical is done and all ok so they should be airborne before too long Also hearing the Koch deal should be done and dusted this week as Bielsa expects Koch to play in next Mondays friendly against Stoke happy days
Part of their contracts stipulated that if they get promotion their wages go up x% so all those players have already had a pay rise so the gap between them to Rodrigo will not be a hardship
The thing is Bielsa doesn't want 2 CB's. He works with what he's got and although we've lost Berra and White. Koch replaces White whilst Struijk is cover for Phillips/Cooper/Koch(or another new CB). He also sees Ayling as cover for CB.
You're correct mate he doesn't but this is one thing that could come back to bite him, I don't see any Premiership quality in that 4 without Koch. Even though Cooper deserves his chance.
From viewing the YouTube clips Rodrigo's positioning, anticipation & running off the ball is class. Has plenty of pace. Makes scoring goals look easy. Scores difficult & plenty of easy chances. Pablo will love him!
Cannot vouch for this but hearing that we maybe doing another deal with Arsenal for £12m Callum Chambers who can play anywhere in defence and DM but a recognised CB. This would be on top of Robin Koch and be cover for anywhere in the back line. Makes sense to me but is it true?
Hope not. If he can’t get ahead of mustafi at CB he must be truly awful. Possesses snail like pace as well.
More of a right back isn't he, played for England at right back anyway, and only 6 foot too small for a CH imo.
