Can't see him wanting to play Oleball. Think it'll be City if anyone here. I'm not sure he'd want/expect to have a say in club matters if he went somewhere new tbh. Part of me says that you're right about his age and high wages etc being a risk. Having said that, it's Leo ****ing Messi and I think any football fan would love to see him wearing their shirt. Even in his 30's and if only for a season or two. And I say that as someone who prefers Ronaldo. For what it's worth, I think he'd struggle to hit the stats that he got in Spain last season in the PL at his age. He'd still be one of the best players in the league though, if not the best.
He won't leave still imo. If he does it will be PSG. I dont doubt his ability, but his commitment has plummeted, so maybe a new direction would help him.
This is reason I think of the legend status 'its Lionel ****ing messi' Yes he's very good and was fantastic but if he came to the prem now, I think he may, well struggle would be a harsh word but certainly wouldn't be the eorld beater that he looks at barca. Ive got feeling he won't move, but if he does, it will be with huge pomp and ceremony and dwindle to disappointed. I hope it doesn't, he has a fantastic legacy, I'd rather it not be tarnished. As an additional, for all I dislike him ronaldo is the better and stronger player, success where ever hes gone

Messi will not leave Barca, in fact, this is his (and his advisors) attempt to dictate to the club and oust a very unpopular president a year before he is due to go. Don’t get me wrong, I like Messi but if ever there has been one player bigger than the club....it’s him. Understandably so perhaps as he was, in my opinion, the best footballer on the planet for over a decade. However, now, imo he is trying to engineer a change at the top which would allow Xavi to pick up the reigns as coach and give Messi another couple of years at the club until he retires. Messi will not leave Barca... famous last words....
Liverpool are willing to sell Joel Matip to PSG in order to sign Kalidou Koulibaly, it has been claimed. The Reds are keen to improve their side despite Jurgen Klopp steering them to the Premier League title. And it seems they view Koulibaly as an important signing amid uncertainty over his Napoli future.
Marcelo Bechler (the reporter who was first to break the news that Neymar was going to leave and now Messi) Is now reporting that Messi has decided he wants to play for Manchester City!
The reports seem to suggest that he actually wants to leave this time, and it’s not merely a political game. The money necessary to make it happen might end up precluding a move, but I think Barca hanging to him in those circumstances would be a mistake.
IF the president resigns, he will stay is the message being rolled out to some outlets. Am not sure how much more political you can get tbh. Agree that this could get quite protracted and messy, which would not be good for either party.
Probably because they are one of a very small number of clubs who could even think about paying his wages.
With Wijnaldum out of contract at the end of 2021 season, Liverpool may sacrifice him for Thiago. [Chris Bascombe]
Messi is on just shy of £1m a week in wages. Who could afford him? Even if he took a 50% cut it's still too much for any other club. I agree with others who've said it's a political move. I doubt he's going anywhere.
apparently thats just his basic wage before bonuses and image rights mind you wasn't Aaron Ramsey reputedly offered £400kpw by Juve which is even madder .
