Could be because he hasn’t always played as an out and out striker? Maybe he’ll start as the 10 and when Hernandez comes on in the second half he’ll go up top. Pretty sure we won’t have spunked so much money on a player without Bielsa knowing how to utilise him to the betterment of the team.
Not hard to see why this view will be in focus, but what I have read says he was in a shyte team creating nothing this year and the reason they never made an impact. Peter Lam the owner has blown the crown jewels and the club are in dire straights. So he has to sell his best players. Ridrigo was valued at £130m the season before last.he scored 23 goals and created 11 assists. He has been the first striker in the National team sheet and hes a workhorse who can play in a number of roles. Last season he played everywhere so not realistic having him down as just a striker. I do however worry myself as he's 29 but I can only think that Bielsa knows exactly what he's buying and if he is his first choice and why wouldn't he be as he's the most expensive. I then look at all the comments from pundits and players who think he is different gravy. massive gamble but who are we to say Bielsa knows nothing
But look what bielsa has done to kalvin he was inconsistent and lacked concentration. He gave him a role and outlined his parameters. Doing this has improved him no end and kalvin has learnt a lot about discipline. He is still a happy joker but more of a team bielsa player now. So maybe he will work with rodrigo and geldhart who could be a real surprise under bielsas tutelage.
Contracts drawn up and a massive fee of £31m rising to £36m wow wow wow. Bielsa No1 choice...... https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2020/08/...os-possible-leeds-move-report-claims-36m-fee/
Only rodrigo i had ever heard of was the composer of his concerto orange juice in the film brassed off.
Regular for Spain says it all for me, they have some good players do Spain. Can't wait to see him play.
Nevermind Rodrigo, Messi just became available on a free. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53911105
The words of Guillame above explain lots of what happened this season but as he says what we saw this season was not of Rodrigos doing here are goals and assists

Harry Maguire has been found guilty of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and repeated attempts of bribery at a court hearing in Greece following a late night brawl in Mykonos last week. The Manchester United captain was handed a suspended prison sentence of 21 months and 10 days by a panel of three judges, who cited the fact that it was his first offence. The hearing commenced on Tuesday, although Maguire was not present having been released from custody over the weekend. His lawyer, Alexis Anagnostakis, attempted to postpone the trial having only received the charge sheet two hours prior, but it went ahead as planned and Maguire was shown no sympathy by the judges. However, Anagnostakis, a leading human rights lawyer, claimed the brawl started after Maguire’s sister was injected with an unknown substance that they feared was a rape drug by two “Albanian” men, causing her eyes to roll back in her head and the English group to attempt to be driven to the nearest hospital. During the trial, one of the on-duty police officers claimed he had to be treated with first aid after being forcefully pushed by Maguire, who had just been handcuffed. The officer sustained injuries to his back and leg and was injected with painkillers. One of the English group allegedly also said “f***, f*** the police” and punched an officer. A second police officer gave a similar account of the events. Maguire’s defence had at one stage claimed the English group were unaware the plain-clothed officers were in fact policeman, a claim that the prosecutor brandished as a “total lie” on Sky News following the verdict. “It can’t be believed,” he said. ”They were taken outside the police station, there were police vehicles, they showed their police IDs. It was a total lie. How can you say ‘f**k the police to someone you think is not a policeman?” The trio were taken to a police station, where the repeated attempts of bribery are alleged to have taken place. The defence claimed Maguire was “kicked” by officers and told his “career was over” while in custody. Maguire withdrawn from England squad following guilty verdict Maguire will appeal conviction for assault and bribery England manager Gareth Southgate had named Maguire in his squad on Tuesday afternoon, despite the fact that the case was still ongoing, but admitted his decision could change following the verdict and was ultimately left with no choice but to withdraw the defender. A statement released by the Southgate read: “In light of this evening’s developments, I can confirm I have withdrawn Harry Maguire from the England squad for the matches against Iceland and Denmark.” Manchester United also released a statement, citing the fact that Maguire continues to “strongly assert his innocence” and highlighted the lack of time the defence team was given to prepare for the trial. “Manchester United notes the verdict of the Greek court today. Harry Maguire pleaded not guilty to all of the misdemeanour charges made against him and he continues to strongly assert his innocence,” the statement read. “It should be noted that the prosecution confirmed the charges and provided their evidence late on the day before the trial, giving the defence team minimal time to digest them and prepare. A request for the case to be adjourned was subsequently denied. “On this basis, along with the substantial body of evidence refuting the charges, Harry Maguire’s legal team will now appeal the verdict, to allow a full and fair hearing at a later date.” The best league in the world is back. Just as a dose of realism, you could make Kiko look world class on youtube if you only showed his saves (admittedly it might not last 6 minutes).
QPR agreed terms with Palace for Eze. 16 million. Just personal terms to be agreed. I'm disappointed at this one, I thought Eze could have made a real difference for us. Sounds like he didn't want to leave London. That one might come back to bite us.
So we just signed a two footed brazilian striker, who can also head the ball. Nationalized Spanish and is a full international and played at the 2018 world cup, won the U21 europea cup with spain, 12 goals in 12 games. Has won the Portuguese league with Benfica. Has played over 170 la liga games and scores 1 in 3ish Rodrigo 30m - 18m ( we didnt pay for big kev). = 12m And some people complain! Come on Lads the futures bright, the futures white. MOT.
Many were surprised when we let Clarke Oduor go to Barnsley, highly rated star of the future it was said. Did we let him go too soon, should he just have been sent out on loan, as he was so well thought of. Sheff Utd ready to sign him apparently. Did the club make a mistake?
What I like is that he doesn't lose his head in front of goal like Paddy and Harrison do. He seems to have a bit more time than he'll get in the Prem but I'm not sure you can teach someone how to be a natural goalscorer and he looks like one. I see him able to see what's happening around him the way that Pablo does. He could make a huge impact for us. A replacement for Pablo that scores goals. If Bielsa thinks he's worth getting then he must think he has even more potential. Fingers crossed
I think, like it or not, Bielsa has his system and only wants players who can fit into it so we're going to move some great prospects on. I'm stunned about Ekuban though! I think Rangers paid £3.5m for Roofe so Caleb must have improved about 10000%
