This is it mate. It does t matter what you earn, I don’t care what anyone says you adjust your lifestyle to suit.

That means more on things like housing, clothes, cars etc. It’s no way to live your life to downgrade your aspirations on the off chance something comes along.

Life just isn’t that simple and losing 20% is still a big loss, at best it’s cutting into your quality of life (the whole point of being around) and at worst it could ruin the foundations of your family.

I’m with you 100%, I feel for every single person who’s had their rugged pulled away.

Hoping for something positive on the job front soon, I've passed initial screenings and 2 background checks for a job, just waiting for a date to go in with documents to prove who I say I actually am is correct and a face to face interview.

I'm hoping that's a positive. I also passed something called a "personality test" how does one pass a test like that? I'm the most monotone and boring person I know

We use those, they are surprisingly valuable.

They have been proven to give a true representation of personality traits, as the questions and scenarios deliberately contrast each other and leave you in a certain category.

They are really ****ing clever, they effectively simplify your core person, and there’s massive evidence to support their value and accuracy.

I’m a big fan of them (although they would never make a decision, as such).

Those people were contravening lockdown rules and that was wrong. However, I never mentioned Bonko doing that. I did however mention that Johnson shook hands with Covid19 infected patients in hospital despite being advised not to thus contracting the virus himself and probably infecting half of his cabinet as a result. But if you think that is the same that's up to you. As a matter of interest, why do you jump onto anyone that criticises Boris Johnson? Do you think he can do no wrong?

like i said before mate we are both staunch supporters from opposite ends of the political spectrum, i have a lot of respect for you, you stick to your guns same as me, but without criticism of both sides during any debate i'm going to stick up for the other side.:emoticon-0150-hands

Once you know how they work you can fiddle them a bit. I got offered a job on the basis of one where I was exactly what they were looking for, but I "appeared to be under a bit of pressure...". Obviously, the pressure came from the fiddling. In any event, I didn't really want the job anyway, but it was interesting to see the tests in practice.

They give so much information, because the tight wording of questions cross references everything you say.

Nothing is beyond manipulation of course.

Generally looking for four core traits and if you know what sort of person they need for a job that's what you give them. The 40-question test I had was a bit of a blunt instrument TBF...

Aye then spilts you into 4 categories with dominant traits etc. They aren’t fool proof but I’ve done one on myself and it seemed incredibly accurate I have to say.

There’s a few different ways they divide them, even seen some where they relate you to a ****ing animal. Useful that <laugh>

I guess it goes on how you read the questions and self assessment also.

I don't believe they would ask for me to go through with documentation to show who I say I actually am, if there wasn't something in the pipeline or something, who knows, that's why I'm not a enployer ha.

We would certainly rule someone out if there was something alarming in the results mate, indeed for some roles it’s openly pass or fail.

Definitely a positive in my eyes that they’ve asked you in, go smash it!

It's essentially for a company I've worked for previously, in a different capacity for s job I've been doing for the last however long it was before I was made redundant.

So, I'm not putting my ducks in a row just yet but I can certainly seen a positive in my future.

Half the battle mate, it’s absolutely good to be positive in these situations, and all the best.

I’d imagine if you’ve worked for them previously that’s another massive plus, you wouldn’t interview someone who you knew was a liability.

Twice actually but that was a temporary contract, this one is a permanent contract they're offering. It was through an agency previously also, whilst this time it's the company themselves offering the job.

So, I like to think I've got a bit of knowledge about the company and the job itself to know what to talk about ha ha.

If I can talk as well as I talk ****e to people at times, I'll land in the job no problems
