All this disruption, forgot there's a game... That's correct it's WBA... Odemwingie and Long, there main threat... JOHN OâShea has warned Sunderland to beware the danger posed by his Republic of Ireland team-mate Shane Long at the Stadium of Light tomorrow. The West Brom striker has scored two goals in the Baggiesâ first six games but OâShea reckons the 24-year-old has the potential to have a tremendously successful Premier League season. And he says Sunderland will have to be on guard against a player who can be a match-winner from nothing. âIâve got the greatest admiration for Shane because Iâve seen at first-hand on international duty just how good he is,â said the former Manchester United defender. âI think most people who know him will acknowledge that heâs always been a player of tremendous ability, itâs just a question of whether the attitude has always been right. âBut heâs maturing all the time and I think heâs arrived at a situation where attitude now matches the ability.â Certainly Long seems to have come of age in this year. He scored 28 goals in 58 games for club and country last season and was voted Readingâs Player of the Year ahead of a record-breaking £6.5 move to Albion this summer. âHeâs certainly a player weâll need to be wary of on Saturday,â said OâShea. âBut Peter Odemwingie is also a dangerous player for them up front and they could form a good partnership this season. âI think that Shane could have gone to a number of clubs in the close season and I certainly think that West Brom have done well to get him.â OâShea says he is looking forward to tomorrowâs game in what has been a difficult week for the club on and off the pitch. He told the Echo: âThe Norwich performance and result was really difficult for all of us and itâs probably the best thing that there is relatively little time between that game and this one coming up on Saturday. âWeâre all keen to put Norwich behind us as quickly as possible and tomorrowâs game is the perfect opportunity to show that we can do that. âWest Brom are a good team and I donât think there league position does them justice at the moment but Sunderland should fear no one at the Stadium of Light and we want to go out there and get back-to-back home victories to give ourselves and the fans a lift
I hope that it is West Brom who will be doing all the worrying with us attacking them from start to finish...
What's a football match lads? thought we had banned talking about it on here anyway so stop it now or the stalkers will be back beware. Anyone else think we'll win tomorrow like myself?
That's 2 of us then mate just another 40,000 to convince hopefully without the aid of chemicals of course.
According to Caulkin on Twitter, Turner plays, Larsson has broken toe and Wickham has groin injury. Its simple, got to be Migg Oshea Turner Brown Ricardson Elmo Catts Gardener Sess Bendtner Ji I expect Bruce to play: Migg Oshea Turner Brown Ricardson Elmo Catts Gardener Vaughan Bendtner Sess Doh!!!
Oh vegas, did you have to tell us that, Larsson and Wickham out OK but he just cant stick with Bendy and Sess, its suicide
Caulkin is usually very reliable. I am not sure if Wickham is out as it did not say that, just that he has a groin injury. Fingers crossed that the enforced changes mean we rally together and win.
