Not trying to put a downer on it. Seems alot of hype around the guy so googled him. He had a loan at Bolton and only scored once in thirteen. He's never really smashed a season. I'd still settle for... Koch, Eze/Kent, Watkins/Adams/Cabral. Not really saying I want him but Ayala is a free agent. He could be a cheap back up.
It depends on pre season, meaning he'll probably judge them/him on the effort they put in on the training ground.
If it's true we're paying €35m for him and £100,000 a week then it does seem as though we're paying way too much. Admittedly I've not seen him play but it reminds me of the Ridsdale era when we were doing well as it was and then decided to unnecessarily mortgage the club and spend huge amounts of money on players that weren't needed and had no resale value. I hope we don't repeat the mistakes of the past. We're in a strong position in the transfer market compared to a lot of other PL clubs, the footballing equivalent of cash rich. Let's not waste it.
Rodrigo, Koch and one other big signing would be a good window for me. A couple of cheaper squad players would be a nice bonus, perhaps a full back and another keeper if we manage to get rid of Kiko. Rodrigo hasn't been prolific for a while but he does create a lot of chances, he also plays for the Spanish national team, has been wanted by both Madrid clubs and valued at much more than 35 million previously so he can't be that bad.
