Interestingly, with regard to football club valuations, Everton are valued at £375m which is less than Moshiri has put into them.
Not being profligate is how they built the business to where it is. There is shrewd investment of course, but perhaps all in all he wasn't thought vfm. Or perhaps there were some other factors that we're unaware of. Also, the value of a business doesn't necessarily translate to ready cash - though I don't really believe the sell-to-buy necessity that is so often rumoured. Their business head and Klopp's football one is currently a match made in heaven - let's hope it continues.
Imagine if PC had stayed at Liverpoool. “Since leaving #LFC, Philippe Coutinho has won two La Ligas, a Copa del Rey, the Bundesliga, German Cup and the Champions League. Worked out pretty well for him, yes?” Could have been a Liverpool legend though.
On Werner: It was reported that Klopp personally told Werner we wouldn't be putting an offer in for him and it was purely for financial reasons. It was also reported that Werner and his agent both tried to squeeze more out of any potential deal. If there is any truth in those reports then it would seem we were interested and the "financial reasons " were either Covid caution or player greed. We'll likely never find out. On FSG: I agree with you that successful businessmen get to be successful by having a plan and sticking to it. It doesn't always mean being frugal, sometimes it's by taking risks. I think FSG have a mixture of both approaches in how they run their business. They have splashed the cash on several occasions so we know they have it in them. I'm happy to get vfm players. Generally speaking we don't buy stars, we make them. I would like to see though if they will step outside their model and go for Thiago who, on the face of it, doesn't fit their hitherto philosophy.
Selling Coutinho was the best thing we ever did. He can go and be a legend anywhere he likes, he was never going to be a legend for us, good player though he was.
he wasn't unwanted ,as you know , but chose to leave and as it turned out we benefited you just need to pray to every deity that the same goes for your lot when Richarlison ****s off .
Seeing Coutinho in trophy celebration photos is like in horror movies when someone is looking at old photos and sees the monster was hiding in the background all along
We got £142m out of Barca for a player worth less than £100m in reality, they were desperate and we took them to the fackin' cleaners
I think PJS thinks he's winding us up when in reality none of us are bothered. Coutinho agitated for a move, feigned injury, disrespected the club, his team mates and the fans so there's no love lost there at all. The huge transfer fee got us the players we needed to push on and turn into a trophy winning machine. We'll always be grateful for that.
I’m not sure why an Everton fan is trying to wind up Liverpool fans about coutinho winning the CL with Bayern, a team Liverpool didn’t even sell him to, after Liverpool have won the CL, super cup, Club World Cup and League in space of 12 months...
