Are any other NE teams in action this weekend ... ... if not I'm sure we can all look forward to some excellent coverage on Look North
flanagan did look a bit 'leggy' but i was putting that down to first game etc, grant tried to keep it simple and to be honest i forgot all about him playing which probably says a lot about his performance, so yeh i would agree mainly...think i was most shocked at wykes complete lack of anything, good chance to have a crack at goal and for some reason he tries to backheel it to someone else, clean through and 'passes' it to the keeper, cant remember him winning a header and he only really showed when he was out on the wing, so i was really keeping a closer eye on him to make sure i was not missing something.
Early days mate but I think the squad is building nicely, still hope its not Graham we are looking at though, unless its as a straight replacement for Wyke, we have enough old pro's as it is.
Charlie should have scored twice today but he did have one other remarkable play. On their corner, he was front and center, between the posts -- the ball came in and he headed the ball out wide about 20 yards to one ours, and then he took off on a full sprint straight down the middle of the pitch. I can't remember if the give and go came off, but when you can turn their corner into our counter -- that seems a good weapon to have.
I wouldn't say nothing more, a few well worn themes continued like Wyke's ineffectiveness but a few surprises like Grigg being fitter (according to Parky) and maybe up for it and some youngsters like Diamond making a case. It's not true that we don't know anything more than we did yesterday about the state of the squad.
