as we seem to have the back line more or less sorted, i am still waiting to see some creativity from the middle...might be just my view but the odd time onien was 'allowed' to get forward more, we looked better as an attacking outfit, the rest while not really having bad games never really did a lot, in fact there were really no players who had stand out games. i am a firm believer in 'build from the back' and i got the impression before lock down that there was improvment in the team, need to see more of scowen before judging him but up front we have players who should get a decent haul in this league, i just feel we have lacked that midfield control for a good while now...going back a few years and Italy were a different force with pirlo in the middle than they were without him, yet the bloke rarely broke sweat, he always had 2 or 3 passes ready to make in his head so when the ball came to him he kept it moving, sometimes it is not all about racing around like a headless chicken but using the ball well...and that is the type of player i would like to see at sunderland.
I'd forgotten about Maddison. His record is better than Szmodics but he's older and got those question marks around his attitude. On balance, I'd take either of them.
I genuinely see the Sunderland connection helping with the attitude. His goals and assists stats in this league are genuinely phenomenal.
If feeney is done and soon to be announced, does that rule us out of signing xhemajli or are we still going for him?

Could be a case of hedging bets. That said we haven’t made any approach to Maddison, he’s stated that himself. It seems backward that we wouldn’t go for him, but then we’ve got McGeady’s large salary on the books we need to live him on ASAP, but nobody is looking.
We're certainly not building a team for the future. I looks like the perfect plan for a moonlight flit.
Most people on here aren't bothered with RTG. I only heard of it during the takeover when a few of their posters came here.
You'd think he'd be an obvious choice. If he's not been offered anything by anyone else, maybe we're waiting until he's desperate for a club.

I don't know who he/she is. I've been on that site once during the last 'takeover'. I like this place, gives me enough info on safc. And certainly don't have the time or patience to contribute to both.
