    UK has left the EU
The UK doesn't want the EU to fish in our waters. They can buy our fish like anybody else.
The UK doesn't want to let the EU decide what state aid we provide to UK businesses. The EU doesn't decide what state aid Japan gives to their businesses so why should they decide for our businesses?

The same UK that trades their fishing quotas to EU boats? So my mate told me today. Something like 5 families own 70% of the UK fish quotas? I haven't read the article yet, but they are calling them the "Codfathers". Very droll.

Apologies, he actually said on whatsapp that 5 families own about a third of UK and one guy owns 45% of the Scottish quota. Does that sound about right?

    I dont know.
I just think we shouldnt be signing any treaties that gives up our rights.
I'd be ok with a free trade agreement but if the EU wants to tie our hands in ways that they dont try to do with other countries outside the EU then I would not agree.

I said I hadn't read the article, so hardly back tracking. He also said that England only own 21% of their quota hence no real "English" fleet. Also the French said, stick as much tax on your fish as you want, as we will be buying **** all from you.

Because they want to steal it.
This seems quite common in the EU.
The UK follows the rules and the French just ignore them.
