I don't know what RTG is like because I've never posted on there or even really looked on there much. Some of you refugees from RTG complain that that site is full of cliques and people get bans for simply disagreeing with particular posters. Recently, it seems that this place is becoming more like that than it ever used to be.
Don't get me wrong my personal opinion is that he's full of **** but even if that was indisputable fact it's not a banning/'resting' offence. I think the mods, or one mod anyway is getting personal requests for bans and is hitting the ban hammer on that basis, which wouldn't be cool if that was the case. You can always ignore people you don't like nobody's forcing you to read their bullshit.
It’s weird reading a thread with somebody on ignore mind, personally I think he had ample opportunity to get involved in the debate/discussion but just wouldn’t for whatever reason and severely lowered the tone and sucked the life out of what was a buzzing thread, it’s been class to see so many new posters on the site and it’s because they wanted to get away from the likes of him imho and long may it continue, not606 Safc board is a hive of activity and I’m over the moon

The Mods can ban the tosser for life as far as I'm concerned ... ... f**k him.
It can be a bit of a mob mentality on here, I've just tried to ignore it and post what I think. It seems 1 or 2 are friendly with a mod which makes them 'untouchable' Best way to deal with it mate, is ignore it and post what you feel. If a ban comes, there's plenty other things in life.
Yeah you often pull the 'you don't start threads' one but it doesn't make my opinion any less valid in the thread I'm posting in. The mags who post here are great lads as you say but, as you reference as a criticism of their board due to unjustified bans, there's almost zero banter with mags on here now. My threads are always ****e anyway
You're right about it being good having new posters. There's got to be room for differing opinions though and I thought he got backed into a corner from the word go, just because he'd heard (or so he claimed) something different to what other people were saying. Doesn't seem right to me, that.
So go on their board, what's the problem, do you? You were saying the only Mags on here now could moonlight as diplomats .. ... or are they great lads?
To be fair, he's been stating fact rather than opinion.. I'll give anyone a chance but I can't help but smell a rat. Either that or someone is being used,.
This board being overly precious due to one or two over zealous people is the problem. I'd rather cut my head off with a wooden spoon than post on the mags board.
I think he came into the club with the best intentions but I can't give him credit for what he has done financially. He certainly reduced our outgoings but at what cost. He's ripped the heart out of the club. Apart from the worst two finishes in the clubs history we have a club that is a mess off the field as well as on it. An academy that is now not fit for purpose, Scouting and recruitment a shambles. Absolutely no structure to how the club is run. We only recently got a CEO. In my experience reducing the costs in a business is the easy bit. Just takes hard nosed arrogant managers. The hard bit is reducing costs, keeping the team on board and continuing to make the business viable and fit for purpose. He's failed to do that. Looking from the outside the place looks a shambles. Who ever comes in is going to find a business that may be reasonably financially sound but is on its knees and needs a complete rebuild. Hopefully we'll get new owners who can not only inject cash but also bring in the right people to run the club properly.
I don't see any problem, neither do plenty of other people ... you obviously have one. If you want things to go back to the 'good old days' of a dozen posts a week, and endless Mag banning, you'll be disappointed imo..
Could be either. Posting something that doesn't conform to the party line, and then defending your position, shouldn't be a banning offence though, in my opinion. Anyway, he's banned now so that's that. I just hope he's the last that gets a ban for disagreeing.
As long as it's not abusive or insulting, people should be aloud to post as they please. This lad was labelled as 2 different old posters and then ridiculed. A couple of imposing posters called for his ban. Within minutes he's been banned.
I'm not a PF refugee as you put it marra. I was posting on 606 when it was under the BBC banner, username was theinediblebulk. Stopped posting on here when the Beeb kicked it and signed up to PF. Stopped posting on there about 4 year ago and signed back up on here last year as 1: I missed the Sunderland banter as an exile and 2: it was a lot more relaxed and chilled than PF was. The whole clique thing is a nonsense, and @Gordon Armstrong doesn't lay bans out on folk for a bit disagreement. He's a better mod than that. Only other ****er he's banned was mittens and he made the correct decision there an all. NQD was going way beyond simple disagreement and having a freindly back and forth about it. He's sorted plenty tickets for folk and if I ever needed one for a match, I'd have no hesitation asking him to sort me out. And even though he's never met me, I bet my last dollar if he could get me a ticket, he would. He's got years worth of references imo and that's why I'll take what he says in good faith. He even divulged his source last year ffs, it was the art dealer mate of Fuhrman iirc. NQD can't even get that right.
