Didn't we get two young lads from Everton season before last and they were garbage, hope this lad knows how to kick a football as those two didn't.

I was (half) joking, to be honest. But a win when you're not expecting it is one of the best feelings as a fan! And experience has taught me that a nailed-on win is a rare thing.

You're right though, pessimism isn't the same thing as realism. Neither is it a virtue. If you don't have hope as a football fan, you're not doing it properly.

I was checking companies house this morning and noticed that the americans never actually got round to dissolving fpp sunderland. They started the process in feb and could have been done by april but they never finished it and the company is still active if needed.GOM has told me over the road that they have to make a final application to strike it off. Not saying it means anything like just Fpp sunderland is still there for the moment.

Doubt that will affect things tbh, if there's a purchase I'd fully expect them to just purchase Madrox. In fact, given that it was apparently them who asked for the obligation to repay the loan to be removed, that's about the only move that would make sense. If they buy Madrox, they wouldn't need the FPP company

I recall Browning being decent, especially considering how dire we were at the time. I think we went downhill when he got injured if I remember right.

Galloway on the other hand was crap.

And why do pessimists always want other people to 'join their cause'.

It not enough for them to feel that way, they have to make a statement.

I find most pessimists (of which I am one), are mainly doing it either consciously or sub-consciously to avoid being disappointed or hurt. If you convince yourself nothing good can happen, you can't be as disappointed when it doesn't, allegedly.

It's a protective strategy based on defensive traits. Defensive traits are commonly perceived as negative but are actually part of being a fully rounded person - some of the friendliest and most successful people are defensive. But because its seen as negative, defensive people are often defensive about the fact they're pessimistic - hence trying to justify and rationalise it as being "realistic".

Not speaking for this person in this case, but as a generalisation. And to be clear, I do this myself all the time.
