How about just last season alone?

Chelsea: adraham, Christiansen, Zooma, James, loftus cheek, mount, Hudson odoi.

Liverpool: Arnold, jones, Elliot, Wilson, Brewster.

Man Utd: Henderson GK, Williams, rashfood, greenwood, Perrier, mctomany, Chong, lingard, fosu mensah.

All of those players either played or was capable of playing for their clubs last season, all brought through their youth.

A bit different to our "world class" academy that produced 4 players in 12 years that were capable haha!

Really - No idea who the 4 bolded players are from Liverpool!! Think Origi and the lad at Bournemouth came from their academy though.

United have always had a good academy so no surprises - but most of the ones who came through last season were enforced due to injuries. Much like Chelsea, they probably wouldn't have played had everyone been fit or (in Chelsea's case, if they'd been allowed to sign players)

Notice you didn't list any Man City ones!

Wonder how it'd fare against clubs of our own former Premier league stature - a lower mid table to relegation threatened team. Let's say a Bournemouth or a Stoke or a Villa - Jack Grealish? Is that it?? Realistically, Our academy, with it's "4 players in 12 years" (which is more like 10 players still playing professionally at our level or higher)

Half of those players you cite only get game time in cup games not the Prem. And Chelsea had no choice but to play academy players as they were banned from signing players last year. They also hoover up young players from other clubs that much that they had something like 30 young players out on loan and still put U18 and U23 teams out for themselves. We don't have that many in total.

It annoys me that he rocked up with Charlie Meth claiming to be a “football man” then proved he didn’t have a clue by appointing a Scottish league gobshite as manager, selling Maja then buying a 300k player for £3m who was nothing like the player he was supposed to replace.

Not to mention all the half truths he’s uttered and takeover bids he’s claimed to have received then bollocksed up.

It doesn't matter how many the mags have brought through.

Someone said we had a world class academy that SD has ruined.

I've just shown you what world class academy's produce, and how far away we've always been from that.

Southampton is another academy that we have never been close to.... I'll list 10 players of around 30 they've produced in the last 10 years.

Bale, Walcott, ward prowse, nathan dyer, Luke shaw, oxlade chamberlain, mings, lallana, Wayne bridge.

Now that's an academy that is successful and world class, and something we've always been light years away from.

Thanks. You've just proved my point for me. Our academy has never been great for producing players, long before SD strolled through the door.

I've just suggested Southampton, who we are light years away from.

If you want me to compare us with other poor academy's, it just proves my point that ours is poor.

Ive given you world class academy's and we've never been close to them mate.

I didn't prove your point at all. i listed the 10 academies at the top of the tree for producing prem players. Leeds are 10th with 7 players. We've had four, which is pretty good going imo, not the best but not the worst. There's clubs that have had longer in the prem than us that haven't managed that. Villa have had one, Watford haven't had any. How were you incapable of working out that was the point I was making?

What makes them “world class?” Trent Alexander Arnold. An average defender and tremendous attacker. Who’s a defender? And 4 players I’ve never heard of? World class.
And if you compare us to other poor academies and we are better, then we aren’t a poor academy

If we are not in the top 10, and probably not the top 30 either.
Liverpool have been producing players for years. I just gave you this season.

I could go into Gerard, carragher, Owen and a host of others.

Our academy has been miles of it for years, and in reality produced 2 proper players in hendo and Pickford.

And yes, Alexander Arnold, premier league and champions league winner before the age of 20.

Add Hourihane and Egan to those two, so currently 4 players in the Prem. Man City have two, Foden and Garcia. Mags have four; Carroll, Perez and the Longstaff lads. Palace two, Zaha and Wan Bissaka. Burnley 2,McNiell and Rodriguiz.

I've never said we had a world class academy but numbers wise, it's holding it's own against a lot of other clubs with Cat 1 academies. And it has to be said that we've just had the worst season in terms of results for our under 23s and under 18s as they never won a match all season. So we can add that to the list of the Don's achievments.

I think it's fair to say we won't be playing any Aretha Franklin when the Don does actually leave, whenever that may be.

I rate Trent, he’s a tremendous player. But he’s not a great defender (wan Bissaka far better. Not a better player but a better defender before you twist my words)

“2 proper players” what an utter insult. Egan first choice at a top 8 club. Explain what you mean by “proper player”

I think we've had 6 players come through who have played in the Premier League and several others in the chsmpionship plus Maja in French1

Not too far behind 10th place, then. Certainly not 30th. And the academy only opened in 2003, 11 years after the Premier League started in which we have yoyo'd or been a bit ****. We've held our own, but certainly haven't made the most of the world class facilities, esp. in the last few years.

A proper player I suppose could be viewed In different ways.

But I meant it as someone who's won things. Pickford is number 1 for his country and is capable of winning stuff.

Egan has had 1 year in the premier league and although he looks like a capable premier league player, it's about all he will ever be.

Regarding Trent, whatever you think of him defensively, he's won more trophies in 2 seasons than our club has in probably 60-70 years.

Seriously - I think Trent is a tremendous player. He's just not a very good defender. But in that side you don't have to be!

How difficult is it to get that through to you!

As for the "proper player" comment Pickford has won nothing. No trophies. So how is he a "proper player" in your view? His last season he was poor. Everyone has a poor season but I don't see Pickford winning any trophies in his career - possibly the FA cup - but Wigan won that too and how many of those "proper players" (using your terminology) went on to do big things? They also got relegated that season!

Our Academy has been pretty good up to Donald taking over. It is a class 1 academy and has retained that status. As Nordic says, we're not far behind 10th place in the number of players from there who have played and are playing at a high level. Your "proper player" comment is, I guess, just so it suits your agenda as it's a complete insult.

As for "Egan has only had 1 good season" - Well the 4 players you listed from Liverpool's world class academy have probably only had 2 and a half games between them.

Make your mind up how you want things to be. You can;t have one rule for Liverpool and 1 for Sunderland

So that pretty much narrows it down to anyone who prior to this year came through an academy and played for Man City.

And people think Stewie moves the friggin goal posts
