After some desperation of wanting to watch something to cheer myself up I decided to watch Outnumbered again. Still a really good watch and funny. I looked at Wikipedia just to see what the 3 children are doing now, and when checking Jake the elder sibling, whose real name is peculiar anyhow, I notice his father's name is Ben Dover. I couldn't quite believe it, but on checking, he is/was a porn star, so it's probably right.
Tonight (Fri 12th) , Beeb 4 @ 9:30, repeat of 2019 documentary "The Beatles: Made on Merseyside". A decent watch between weekly trips to the supermarket - no face masks required. Available on Beeb iPlayer for at least a month.
Just watch a documentary on the I player about Joan Armatrading, a really good watch for anyone who hasn't seen it.
It was excellent John. Thanks for putting a note on this thread - I had forgotten about this thread so mentioned it on the FNMT thread.
Just watched the Edge on the i player, anyone who likes Cricket it's a must-w. Even though I knew there were some issues with mental health, I never realised how bad it was.
Wed August 19th '20 - 11 p.m. GMT - repeat of "The Old Grey Whistle Test - For One Night Only". 3 hours of reminiscing with Bob Harris. Wonderful.
9:30 - 11:00 PM tonight - BBC 4 - 2 Fleetwood Mac docs. 1) Peter Green - Man of the World 2) Fleetwood Mac - Don't Stop. Repeats - but bloody good watch if you're a fan - even if you're not a fan. Influenced by and influenced many.
Remember watching this one night after an evening in the pub. At the end Bob Harris looks at the camera and says "Nice!". Mm mm...You can see where the inspiration for Jazz Club on the Fast Show comes from.
I'd say 1 of my 3 favourite songs ever... a genius on yer guitar... Slightly taking a back seat - totally in character: A decent cover... Several decades later... another slight back seat... and even later... first & last are always best
I remember watching his first appearance on TV on OGWT. 47 years ago. I couldn't imagine being 47 l3t alone 47 years ahead. As this song says-
