Still think we would beat this Bayern team like last year. Shame we were hitting sh!t form in the spring
Bayern look a very good side and I can't see anyone stopping them getting their hands on the trophy tbh, they've got home advantage too.
Zanjinho has a simple mind, he cant distinguish between the Europa league games in Germany and the champions league games in Portugal
Just reading apparently Barca's buyout clause for Messi is £627million ... had to laugh at that, what kind of dreamland is this club living in
The releases clauses in Spain are compulsory and inevitably a joke. Messi doesn't want to leave, never as done, so why would he argue for a realistic release clause? Barca don't and didn't want him to leave so just stuck a ridiculous release clause in to fulfill the requirement.
I believe it was bumped up that high after the Neymar transfer, which nobody thought would be reached but was, so they were making sure it didn't happen again. The idea is to deter clubs from bidding by having a figure so ludicrously high and not losing your star assest for £54m
The original idea was to protect the player from being stuck at a club that either flat out refused to sell them or priced them too high making as transfer impossible.
Quite a few reports that messi really wants to leave barca. I cant see it, he's treated like the be all and end all at barca, he's not going to get that anywhere else especially at 34.
I heard he was, or at least they tried to consult him on Koeman before he was appointed. Barca checking that Messi was ok with it. Sounds like they'll do anything to appease him. I agree can see him leaving till his contract runs down. And until that point Barca wont progress, cause as good as he is (or was), they need to start looking long term and Messi just aint that anymore, plus his wages probably outweigh his value on the pitch these days.
Juventus paid €100m for Ronaldo at 33, maybe they'll do the same again? Ronaldo and Messi in the same team should be box office, one way or the other.
