The imposition of these latest rules are designed to make the government appear decisive. Sadly its the public who have to pay the price. The government keep insisting they want to revive the economy and get people back to normality. Part of normality is going on holiday by using the airlines, ferries, etc that the government wanted to help. So people have done what was asked and taken a holiday ... ... if some people believe that makes them thick then so be it. The government lifted travel restrictions, to France, and allowed flights, ferries, etc. Should the public believe the government and trust it's now acceptable or ignore the latest guidelines? Personally I've lost the trust I had in them tbh.
They know all about "winning", its what they were born to do, the fact that they do it badly does not matter to some..

Its quite extraordinary. It will be decided on cost, it’s so short sighted. Someone losing pay and hitting hardship is a lot more costly than a test. They’ve no money to spend, this recession continues, grows. It just doesn’t make any sense at all mate the way they are doing it, it’s snap decisions and ‘one size fits all’, that’s not the way to manage anything at all, let alone a pandemic and financial crisis. There’s a workable middle ground that they just seem either too blind to see or unprepared to consider.

Ministers confirmed the requirement to self-isolate for 14 days upon returning to the UK will be scrapped for a slew of popular destinations – meaning trips to France, Greece and Spain look like they could be an option.
The rise in cases in France is clearly concerning, but what’s being overlooked is that the death rate is stable, and mainly falling. Now, we are a month or so into borders being reopened in many countries, and many have seen a rise in infections. We are 6 weeks out of lockdown and have tangible evidence that this hasn’t, and isn’t likely to cause a spike in its own. Borders have details for every person crossing so surely, surely they can collate data and effectively see where it coming from? There’s software galore in the airline industry that can cross reference passenger lists. France and Spain have a lot more travel from Africa for example than we do, and Germany has a lot more from East of Turkey, place where the virus is rising and way behind the curve for Europe. We are still allowing folk in from the US and they are sesso so le for their own quarantine, same as Europe. How is that logical? We need someone to drill down and see who is carrying it back into Europe. When you look at Italy, they, like us, have kept it flat, what are they doing differently to Germany, France, Spain? Greece were almost clear until international travel resumed, check their customs data. I very much doubt it would take a massive amount of work to cross reference this data. We are doing regionalised changes in the UK and they are working very well, surely this can be applied to other countries? Paris for example is surely a far huger risk than the South of France?
More infected people are coming from Calais to Dover, packed in rubber dinghies ... ... than all the British tourists put together. This lot are the biggest knee-jerk government of all time.

It's disappointing that Easyjet have pulled out of the NE. We arrived in the south of France, in February, and part of the reason for coming was the availability of cheap flights. I hope the NE isn't forgotten as it has been so often in the past.
I’m well aware that if I go abroad during an international pandemic, I do so at my own risk. I’m well aware that quarantining from certain countries can be brought in at any moment, so I run that risk if I choose to go abroad. I’m well aware because the government have made that clear tbh.

Husband is a Tory MP member of a think tank in favour of abolishing the NHS and replacing with a private insurance paid for service. If that doesn't tell you what the Tories intend doing with the NHS eventually nothing will. They won't abolish it overnight, they will just keep chipping away at bits of it until there is nothing left.
