You think Gao wanted his business to be £15m worse off. I don't see any benefit to Gao here. All that happens is Saints fans dislike him (even) more and we lose out on sponsorship revenue. No doubt the deal was dodgy in the first place - but I don't see how this would have been part of a plan.

Agreed.... you reckon there’s any realistic chance of that happening anytime soon...? The Chinese economy has been nosediving for the last few years abd doesn’t look like improving any time soon. With the erratic political situation between West and East also deteriorating too, we need another knight in billionaire shaped armour....!!

Classic Saints would surely hint at one of the "bigger" players being sold, which would rule out Vestegaard or Hoedt. Can't see Stephens being coveted by a bigger club (although I do rate him highly) so Bednarek?

Would explain the links to a new CB. I said earlier in the summer we might well cash in on Bednarek due to his contract situation. Be a shame as him and Stephens formed a good partnership.
I imagine if Ralph wanted either to stay, They would have and would sign a new deal. Surely Ralph okayed the sale, if it true that we are going to sell one of CBs. Wonder how much Bednarek would be worth?

Well it's all speculation of course, But we are building somethng pretty good here atm, Why would say Bednarek or Stephens not want to continue playing, Unless Ralph wants to bring in another first choice CB i guess.
I can't see Ralph wanting to sell Bedders unless it's for at least £30m. If the interest is from a top 6 club it might be difficult to stop though.
Anyone got any articles regarding Bedarek rumours - I haven't heard a thing? He has looked good for us, especially for his age, but still makes a fair few mistakes. Can't see anyone spending £30m+ on him. Hopefully it is Vestergaard!
