Is that not just one of the deals though? He may have somebody waiting in the wings waiting to offer him more.
Thanks. Ties in with what I've said for months, in that the £10 million loan, is nearer to FPP's valuation of the club.
It's realistic, but probably unlikely. Youre looking at about £2.1m which, if we had 20,000 people willing to put £100, in we could raise. Some would probably be prepared to put more in which would help (they'd still only get one vote so it wouldn't give them a disproportionate say). The issue is that 6% isn't really much use because I believe the majority shareholder could force a compulsory sale, so we could basically be removed any time anyone fancied it. There's also the issue of ongoing funding. If we've got 6% then in theory if the majority shareholder wants to invest £30m, we'd need to find nearly £2m again to match it, or would have to dilute our shares, and that could be an issue. Others in RAWA might well think it's doable, this is just my personal opinion. Personally I only think it would really work if the Methven / Collins proposal went through and the club needed to be bailed out by the government and they effectively gave the shares to a supporters group to run until such time as it could get back on its feet and be sold on to someone else. Personally I'd probably rather a group came in, bought the club and gave a supporters group a non exec type seat.
That's my hope tbh. I haven't heard anything about Fuhrmann being involved but then, since the loan is in place, he's likely never not been involved! From what I've heard FPP have a valuation of the club which is well lower than Donalds (iirc their valuation was nearer to nowt than 36m). They won't be matching what Donald wants, but if other groups fall away or aren't realistic (like Storey) suddenly Donald might be left without much choice other than to negotiate with them. Fingers crossed that the rumblings that smug is hearing are linked to that.
The biggest thing with Donald is the longer he holds out for his top price the less chance he has of getting it. That continues day by day as the club is going to start to lose money now, we’ve seen the accounts, and he is going to have to cover those losses/ if he keeps putting those losses onto an asking price he will lose everything he has, or put us into administration (which I don’t believe he’d ever do) and lose most of the value that way. He has to be realistic and cut his losses, not just for our sake and the clubs, but for his own.
So, as I keep saying, the biggest current investors, and most likely buyers, are still 'FPP'. I really don't believe the Gray/Donald reason for this deal being off, it's absolute nonsense imo. There would be nothing to stop Gray's consortium buying the club and Gray appearing later. Besides I doubt Donald cares who buys it and why would he ... ... the amount of people swallowing this drivel is incredible.
There's talk on rtg of Armstrong being involved too, apparently Donald hates him. Rubberface getting a bit stick over there and needs to ignore it tbh. But like i posted there, surely it's more to do with Donald having a better offer ? Unless Donald is completely stupid.
People have built up Gray's reasonable criticism of Donald into a seething hatred with people having to hold them back from killing each other. Ashley despises Staveley but was more than happy to give her another chance to bring him money. Seriously, people believing this slaver about Donald pulling out of a massive deal, because of a daft tantrum, is absolutely laughable.
I hadn’t heard that, but you’re absolutely right, absolute garbage. Donald wants his money out and won’t give 2 ****s who pays him it. People seem to forget as we’ve fallen out of favour with him that the bloke is a millionaire, he’s not a complete moron.
Absolutely. And let’s hope that happens. Point I’m making is Donald clearly isn’t stupid with money or he wouldn’t be a multi-millionaire. I don’t buy for a second he’d block a sale because he doesn’t get on with Micky.
Agree, this will see two millionaires leave the club with 2 billionaires coming straight in and then the potential of another 3 to join in the future
He inherited the company from his dad though, has now lost £10m at Eastleigh and in theory should take a loss at Sunderland. He isn’t really a clever businessman in my book but he still wouldn’t block a sale that met his valuation
