Get your hand off it, Chesh. In Queensland, our dear leader is a woman, and we are a thousand miles from Victoria. Do check on your facts before you try to denigrate a Sunny Coaster.

I did check a few of the links. They're not all Johnson anyway but, for example, Sajid Javid misquoted a year when homelessness reached it's peak. He said 2008 under Labour but it was 2003. The commentator then says his claim that homelessness had halved was correct but most of it happened under Labour.

Obviously he has an opinion since the website is Johnson lies but he's grasping at straws. Johnson said the birth rate went up after the Olympics but it didn't! How dare he get his facts wrong. FFS! Utterly ridiculous so I didn't even bother reading the sh*t about Trump.

I know you don't live in either country but could you have voted for Corbyn or Hillary? That is the big question. It wasn't Johnson or not Johnson, there was an alternative.

I asked the lying question because that is the picture the lefty MSM paint of both of them. Isn't that a coincidence? If you don't do your own research and just read, watch or listen to the MSM you'll get a slanted view and as Shaks pointed out, you may not get the news they don't want you to see.

Fox News in the states support Trump but when they have their 'Five' discussion there is always at least one dissenting opinion. Does that happen with CNN or MSNBC?

Not a question I have considered really because, as you correctly point out, I couldn't vote in either. So from a point of ignorance I would have probably voted for Clinton as I really don't know the negative things about her. There are probably quite a few but now it's totally irrelevant as she isn't standing. Johnson or Corbyn really was a no win situation. I would probably have voted Liberal. The situation with lying isn't quite as obvious if, as I do, you read several divergent media sources and then form an opinion. In my opinion I think if I was in need of help and Trump or Johnson were the only people able to help me then unless there was something in it for them I think I would be in danger. Do either lie more or less than other politicians I think the answer depends on if you support them or not. To me they both divide opinion quite cleanly and I honestly don't think that this helps society one bit.

What are you saying? Queensland is an area, a bloody big area that you could fit a pissy arsed little country like yours into about five times. You should read the post properly, it says AREA not COUNTRY. NZ is a country, run by a woman, Qld is a state, run by a woman. Also I don't think you know what a Sunny Coaster is, do you? Clue: It's not made by Toyota. <doh>

I applaud you reading/watching/listening to alternate media views. It's tough to find any that support Trump or Johnson. In the UK we have Talk Radio and in the USA they have Fox News. Apart from those the media is quite partisan.
So you would have voted Liberal? I guess it's because you couldn't bring yourself to vote for Corbyn or Johnson. A Liberal vote would have been the equivalent of a spoiled ballot since they were never going to win.
Unfortunately for the vocal minority we are privileged to live in a democracy so get to choose a governor every set amount of time.
If Corbyn had won I wouldn't be happy but if the majority had voted for him then I'd have to suck it up. I'd now be watching as he tried to repay all student loans from the start, renationalise industries and get fibre broadband delivered to every home in the UK, while dealing with the pandemic.

    We would be fkd.

Be careful what you wish for

Soft cnut thinks I don't know what a Sunny Coaster is, it's Eric who comes from the sunshine Coast which is above Brisbane in Queensland, as opposed to a gold Coaster, who comes from the gold Coast, below Brisbane, and a drongo who comes from Brisbane. ;)

You should try Breitbart News in the US as well as some international publications. Johnson appeared to be the darling of the printed press just a few short months ago, so what went wrong?

    https://www.pressgazette.co.uk/what-the-papers-say-about-the-2019-general-election/

I have always considered that one of the most important aspects of a free press is its ability to challenge the government and unearth wrong-doings, holding them accountable for, oh lets see: Watergate, Monica, Profumo, WMD etc So a healthy press is always going to look as though it isn't on the side of the government, and that's a good thing.

Just wishing gets you nothing but shattered dreams.
