Correct, to anyone who hasn't yet sent an e-mail to Geraghty you might as well be talking to next door's cat.
Or are you happy to just let off steam on a football forum and let the ba**ards walk all over you?

Sent me e-mail told mr ****ing Geraghty that he and his ilk should stand down and let someone get elected that are looking to the future of Hull not living in the past.

The naming rights would be sold to generate money...

I can see it now. "The Cash Converters Stadium".

If anything I still think a new build at Craven Park would be better than Melton.

Shouldn't you be asking this of Terry Geriatric, rather than us on this board?

What I mean, Strov, is that we can witter on, all we like, but the (mainly) guys who run your (and my ex-) city do not have a lot of sense. certainly no sense of priorities......Hull Fair indeed! :steam:

As long as each gets his or her name on a civic building, or a road sign, that's about the peak of their ambition....<grr>

Interestingly enough similar situation here in Lyon right now. Football club want to move out of Stade de Gerland (in Lyon city) which is a municipal stadium (they pay rent) into a new 60k private stadium in Decines (out of town)..

But lo and behold local politicians are bang against the move as taxes would go up plus traffic would be horrendous.

Lyon "needs" the stadium finished by May 2014 (2 years before the 2016 Euros which are in France) as UEFA could than sanction the new stadium as one of the 6 to be used.

I'm currently training a quantity surveyor who has the plans and I've seen them.. even though the stadium is good for his business he thinks that at present 50% of people walk to the Stade de Gerland whereas if you move out of town, most folks will go by car, metro or tram.. his other moot point being that Olympique Lyon should play in Lyon.. and I agree, Hull City should play in Hull.

Melton aint hull, is it !!! and dont see what choices we have, When moving to over parts of Hull, as the council might not grant planning permission !

When you think of all the good old buildings and parts of Hull that these self-serving bastards have knocked down, they should be awarded "The Order of the Golden Bulldozer".

But when it comes down to acting intelligently, re-generating an area, encouraging the establishment of a first-class sports centre, etc....they don't even begin to know what to do.

If the Allams take their development out to Melton, the KC should be re-named 'the Terry Geraghty Mausoleum' - because that's what it will be.

(I've heard it said that the late Alderman Sir Leo Schultz's wife was a major share-holder in D.J. Broady (demolition = "Space-made") and you could see what they did to the city, together with Sammy Allon.)

it will be latest in range of hull city council buildings and initiatives completing the 'White Elephant' brand. The ice arena is currently its flagship!

It is just ridiculous that we have being drawn into this. For me personally it is perfect, the ground will be five minutes from my house, and what difference does it make if it is in the boundaries of Hull, it is still representing the people of Hull, still the Tigers, still wearing the mighty black and amber stripes. We are not changing the club just moving the ground, any true supporter would follow them there!

Major sticking point is the fact i never see it happening, and eventually we will see a truce between the Council and the Allams, with Sir Adam Pearson playing a major role.

And for us who can't drive and rely on buses? i arent going to get a two buses and pay the expensive bus prices PLUS a price of a football ticket... what about the people who live out in Bridlington/Hornsea/Withernsea.. even if they can drive its an extra 9/10 miles onto their journey or an extra hour on another bus for those who don't drive... fair enough its okay if you live that side of Hull but youve got to think about the other side aswell... at the minute the KC is in the perfect place for the stadium... moving it elsewhere in Hull would make the most sense but i doubt the council would sell the land (if they owned it) nevermind granting planning permission.

No train station in Hornsea or Withernsea... isn't one in Melton either... it would still be a bus then a train for people in Hull and trains are more expensive.

The Allams have being offered The Costello by the council though but i don't think its big enough is it?

i think you will find that Melton does have a train station and with enough foresight it could be another boothferry halt. you dont work at the council do you???

Don't make me giggle! I travel from Leicester to every home game and a fair few away. If getting in the car for 10 minutes stops people from going, they aint proper fans. Maybe we could create some atmosphere then too!
