Congrats lads. My little girl got slime stains up the wall on the stairs that I painted about 4 weeks ago.
Literally just seen a story of a pupil that under this triple lock algorithm ended up with 2 A’s and a U in a single subject. How is that even possible?
corruption at its highest, hopefully these students will remember who screwed them over when the time comes to vote
that's good of them. I think part of this is that their foreign student population has probably been decimated because of travel bans
A huge part of the problem though is the over estimation by teachers of pupils predicted grades so some system had to be in place to mitigate for this .
understand that but unfortunately they either scrap the year so everyone takes exams now and have them quickly marked or they give everyone their mock grades. That's the whole point of mock exams? You can't go marking down random pupils from historically poor performing schools.
It really didn’t though Teachers give estimated grades on a pupil performing in the exams to their potential. Only the thing is, some don’t and screw it up for whatever reason on the day. Teachers can’t allow for that, the same way they can’t allow for some over performing. Given the completely unique extenuating circumstances it’d have hurt literally no ****er had they merely chosen to use the predicted grades. Instead the ****s have created an algorithm which has historical bias for / against the school in question built in.
Tobie really loves a debate doesnt he In other news i just took a giant dump, dunno what I ate but it was like a new born babe.
well i just accepted this was accurate Was the grading system fair? Exam regulators and the Department for Education insist it was. Ofqual said that accepting teacher grades without standardisation would have meant an “implausibly high” year-on-year 12 per cent increase in grades of A and above. Now if the system they used to mitigate for this was fair is another matter .
The algorithm was fundamentally flawed, as it used historical performance from the students school to decide whether they should be marked up or down. So for example, a school, who’d been underperforming a few years ago, but had maybe changed their management and dramatically improved since, saw the current years students paying the price for their historical failure. Never right and it’s got super forecaster Dom’s finger prints all over it. They need to back peddle on it, but it’s not looking like they will. Appealing the result will cost £111 per subject. Unbelievable Jeff.
i just referred to the over estimation of grades by the teachers rather than the fairness , which was always going to be a bit of a lottery imo , of the system used to take that into account .
Which is why they shouldn’t have bothered, and just left the anomaly of a year on year over performance as an outlier, driven by the completely unique circumstances. Instead they’ve made a complete dogs arse of it.
Standard Tory attitude They'd rather inflict needless suffering on thousands of innocent people than risk one pleb getting an inch above their "rightful place"
