Cold hard statistical facts is sombreros weakness. Ok then. Did you know Newcastle went 256 games in the 1890's without scoring a goal directly in off an exposed left bollock.
I support my team because they are the local team to me. I merely stated a fact. That fact puts the prurtests outside PL HQ, petishans, MP letters etc, and toys being thrown out of the pram on the "twittersphere" by the likes of Tyler and the Ayatollah Wraith into perspective.
I know it’s the mail REVEALED: Why Newcastle's £300m takeover bid collapsed https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...l-club.html?ito=native_share_article-masthead
While this is now a dead story as far as most are concerned, I do wonder what the effect of the fuss being created by so many NUFC Fans might be on any new, propective, buyer. Would they lookat at it as Fans showing their collective loyalty and love for their Club, OR Might they shy away from wanting to have to deal with fanatics who can get nasty and personal if you don't do what they want. AND Might this perspective buyer ask themselves if they really want to lob out £300mil for that amount of hassle!!!!
So, the Daily Mail ‘breaking’ a story that the FA openly said 4 days BEFORE they pulled out. Cutting edge journalists.
Fair play to the PL for a professional, detailed answer. Not that the mags in the comments are having it, but that very much reads like game over. They gave the Saudis time to provide detail they needed, offered an independent process, the Saudis walked. They've been shouting at the wrong shops. https://mobile.twitter.com/i/web/status/1294272141077221376
As fans we believe we're important, even vital, to club owners/buyers. The reality, as Ashley and Donald have demonstrated, is that we're just a noisy irrelevance.
I have to say the Mags 'putting pressure on the government' should receive an award for entertaining the people of Sunderland They're absolutely and relentlessly hilarious. @SteveCorbett64 Because the government refused to intervene earlier we now have a diplomatic incident on our hands that could harm future KSA into the UK. The Trust should write an open letter to Boris Johnson. Let me know if you want help? 10:18 PM · Aug 14, 2020
What can Government do to intervene in a deal to buy a private company where the potential buyer has withdrawn their offer to buy. The government do not have the power to force the potential buyer to buy any more than they can force the potential seller to sell a private company. Nor can the Goverment dictate to a private company what terms and conditions a private company such as the Premier League decide who can or can't be a member of their league. The Government quite simply do not have any say either way. What is so difficult to understand in this?
The government wouldn’t intervene to block it when asked by several of their own members, and they now want them to intervene from the other vista? Seems like a constructive use of time I’d love to see the response to that letter
