In fairness, his scoring record for Wigan last season wasn't bad.

There may be more than meets the eye to his game is guess? (No pun intended).

My initial thoughts are he's too similar to Glatzel (but better in the air).

Just wait to see if it gets confirmed. Interesting that Stoke supposedly pulled out due to wage demands.

Danny Ward to Udders is hotting up too. 3 year contract supposedly. We can't match that I don't reckon.

The goal v Reading shows a lot of confidence and decent technical ability in fairness.
Some not too shabby finishes in there. Can see him linking well with Hoilett given time.

We won't be short of penalty takers.

He likes his little back heel flicks.

Most if his work done around the 6 yard box. All we have to do is get the ball in there. <doh>

Will be a much stronger physical presence. I just hope we don't rely on that as Plans A, B, C and D.

Agree, a young Prem loanee with some pace, stamina, ability to run at defenders, have an eye for goal and a bit of a fox in the box. Doesn't need to be a big guy as we already have that.

The goal against QPR is the sort of thing Tomlin could line up.
Quite a mixture of feet and head.
As said, just hope he doesn't turn out to be another like Masky's idol.

Only reservation about Moore is the implication his signing has on our playing style and type of game. Having said that, the guy could be a lot better than just labelling him as a 6' 5" target lampost like Lambert.

On the extra striker front, if we're going to pay peanuts for someone else or take a chance on a youngster loanee, then I'd have preferred to have kept Ward. A bit rash on times, but he'll never give up and the guy can finish - his first time left foot goal against Hull from Tomlin's through ball was a good a finish as you'll see in this division.

Maybe he was at his best when not starting a game, but he was a real pain to tiring opposition defences coming on with 20 minutes to go.

Striker aside we’re less than 5 weeks away from the start and need to see lots more players coming in ie GK if Etheridge is off, RB x2, CB - Lockyer is available- creative CM, winger x2.

Appreciate that’s easier said than done but do assume Harris knows who he needs and hopefully Tan will back him.

Of the current squad I’d not be displeased to see Paterson, Hoilett, Murphy, Pack, Vassell & Flint go.

Thinking about my up thread post on our readiness for the season, which is only a month away, surely RB has to be the priority.
Thres always a lag in introducing players to a team, hence the reason for wanting a good pre season. That isnt going to happen this year.
If we started the season with whats left of last seasons squad, we'd be ok, except for RB.
In an ideal world there would be a few ins and outs but the 'must have' for the start of the season in RB.:emoticon-0107-sweat

Lockyer would be a good shout.

I'd still like to see us keep Hoilett and Pats in truth as I think Hoilett can link well with other forward players in the squad. He'd just need to be used a little more sparingly I think as he seems to burn out and fade after a run in the side a lot more quickly these days.
Pats is useful as a squad player and purely for when we go route 1 late on in games.

The other 4 you mention I agree with. Would obviously like to see us recoup a chunk of our outlay though if possible.

Pack would need replacing though if he goes.

Id also want to keep Hoillet and Paterson.

If sell Etheridge. Far too good as a no.2.

A right back as mentioned is a priority.

Other than that unless we get players out we go with what weve got.

I cant see fees being paid for Flint Glatzel Cunningham Pack. Therefore loans or frees should be accepted.

    Creative CM?
Anyone got any information on Tomlin’s injury?
In any event we know we’re never getting 46 games out of him so wonder what Harris has in mind? Saying that after he was injured pre lockdown City got some decent results without him but we all saw what a massive difference he made post lockdown.

Okay, one box ticked. I hope he can get off the mark quickly to avoid anymore Madinegate.

Assuming the fee was about the £2m reported then Tan is continuing to bank roll the club.

I'm sure Harris and team are working on the other signings needed and moving out others. Probably some of the latter before the former to provide capital needed.

Good to see some youngsters getting contracts but will they ever break into the first team? City’s average age is too high possibly?

    https://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news/mark-harris-tom-sang-sign-new-deals

Most championship clubs seem to have a lot more youngsters than City.

BTW maybe this will be the season Natazne Mayembe gets his chance; maybe City won’t need to buy anyone if the youngsters like him get a chance and prove themselves?

Interesting to see that Harris has mentioned young Mark Harris when talking about our striking options in light of Danny Ward "most probably" leaving.

Could we see a couple of youngsters start getting a little more game time next season?
I know it was mentioned when Harris replaced Warnock but usually it's just proved to be waffle to appease the fans.
