The good news is the replies aren't inundated with the usual troFEe caBuHnuT bullshit

The bad news is that Newcastle fans really are turning into a bunch of whiny dickheads, aren't they?

Why did they cut off the start of the run? Odd choice.

I'm sure the posters who were so furious when Poch sacked off the Season Killer Cup (even in the seasons we reached the final or the semis...) are going to be just as infuriated when the ubermensch fields a bunch of reserves and U23 players...

    That's better:

"Few players in the world could have picked the ball up on the edge of their own penalty area, beat half the opposition team and then finished as calmly and precisely as Son did."
"He showed so much awareness, speed and skill to beat the Burnley midfield and defence. It's a goal fit to win the award." - Ian Wright.

So the league said they will take into consideration the hectic schedule that will be experienced by the likes of Manchester x2 clubs, Wolves and Chelsea due to their involvement in this years European comps which are still going on.
Let's see what they do for us?

Oof. Squad is going to be utilised to the fullest I'd imagine, though at the same time I think we can handle it. I think we'll need to field two different XIs for the Prem and Europa Qualifiers, then a mixed side depending on who we draw in the EFL.

    So something like:

Prem - Hugo; RB, Toby, Dier, Davies; Ndombele, PEH, Lo Celso; Bergwijn, Kane, Son
Europa - Gazza; RB, Sanchez, Tanganga, Cirkin; Sissoko, Winks, Alli; Lucas, ST, Sess

I think we can all guess the likely outcome

Still, it will be good to see Alfie Whiteman, Dilan Markanday, Kion Etete and J'Neil Bennett all make their debuts...

So many games so early in the season means that :

    - Pros

Senior squad members are going to be getting a lot of yards in their legs
in the first two months (as opposed to the usual N weeks without a game)

    - Cons

You know a season-ending <standard> injury is waiting for at least one
    key player ... :(

The Premier League will release its fixtures next week, although both Manchester clubs will be given a delayed start to the season after reaching their respective European semi-finals.

    Complex schedule for Spurs
The issues surrounding the calendar are complex and are underlined by the position Tottenham find themselves in after the EFL released its schedule for the 2020-21 season.

Jose Mourinho's side will enter the Europa League at the second qualifying stage on 17 September.

It is the start of a three-match bid to reach the group section, with further qualifying matches scheduled for 24 September and 1 October.

However, the EFL released its fixture schedule on Thursday and confirmed the seven Premier League clubs who qualified for European competition would enter the Carabao Cup in the third round, scheduled for the week commencing 21 September.

Tottenham will be the top seeds in the Europa League second qualifying round draw, which takes place on 31 August. If they win, they will be scheduled to play in two tournaments in the same midweek.

The European dates cannot be moved and it is not viewed as feasible to change the EFL Cup dates given the knock-on effect to the tournament and lack of obvious alternatives.

It will leave Mourinho needing to work out how to navigate the twin challenge.

Tottenham officials are speaking with the EFL to discuss the matter.

However, it would appear their only option is to follow the example Liverpool set when their Club World Cup commitments in Qatar clashed with an EFL Cup quarter-final at Aston Villa last December.

THAT is not the only option. The league could help us out but hey it's only Spurs. They don't wear red.
If the 2 Manchester clubs are going to find dates to play their PL games , how about we play our EFL cup games on the weekend and play ( depending of course if we progress ) our PL games on the extra days when the Manc clubs will play?

Of course the easy option is to make our first 2 fixtures the matches with the Manchester clubs, then schedule the Carabao cup matches on the Monday I am sure which ever league teams we draw can move their game to Friday night.
