You’re always taught in training school......see a toilet and use it, nothing worse than being on a cardiac arrest and bursting for a leak.....or even worse.
Doing those chest compressions so make the need greater ;)

    Interesting details todate.

Here in Oz, the colder states ( Victoria with New South Wales above them ) are experiencing second phase infection rates.
Here in Queensland, we ( touch wood ) ........... are virtually covid free.

New Zealand, which had just celebrated 100 covid free days, now have some new infections, which came about from no known causes.
Now, they have seemingly pinpointed it back to refrigerated food coming into the country.

Would it be fair to say that the colder the climate area, the worse the covid cases?

John McAfee Arrested For Wearing A Woman's Thong As A Facemask In Germany

John McAfee, former founder of McAfee Antivirus Software, was reportedly arrested in Germany for making an unwelcome fashion statement with his face cover when he wore a woman's thong - instead of a face mask - over his head.

McAfee tweeted out on Monday that he had been detained because he wouldn't put on a medically certified mask instead of the thong.

He wrote: "Visited Catalonia just before Europe banned Catalonians from travelling. Tried to return to Germany and were refused entrance. They demanded we wear masks. I put on my thong mask. They demanded I replace it. I refused. Tussle. Jail. Black eye. Released."

    Germany: Researchers stranded on Heligoland
“Trivial issue but waiting for high level beaurocrats [sic] to arrive. Slow bastards, as you know," he wrote while the issue was unfolding. “My Coronavirus mask is the problem. I am insisting it is the safest available and I’m refusing to wear anything else — for my health’s sake. Authority!?!?!?!?” he continued.

“Going to have to cancel the Red Scarf Society meeting. I am so sorry. Note to future adventurers: Always joke with you [sic] captors. No matter what,” he concluded.

Then, his wife said she would take over his account "until John escapes (usual method), bribes someone (very quick – might be out in a few hours), retains the right lawyer (will be a few days) or becomes warden of the jail, in which case we will have to force him out."

His wife, Janice, continued: “He was not arrested for wearing the thong as a mask. He was arrested for refusing to replace it with a ‘medically certified’ over the ear mask. I refused as well. But they chose to arrest John, and leave me be.”

She later left on a private jet back to Munich without John.

“I’m following John’s instructions and heading back. He assured me he would be released,” she later said. In a Tweet later in the day McAfee said he was "back in Belarus" and commented:

“I cannot speak publicly about my fun and games yesterday, regrettably, but after a few hours sleep I will be back with my usual stream of conscious [sic],” he added.

    Godspeed, John. Godspeed.

If it was a choice of health or the economy we wouldn’t be so world-beatingly poor on both.

What's your point Kiwi? Do you have one? I'm slowly coming round to Stroller's point of view about you. He isn't always barking mad.

Police in Melbourne have adopted ruthless tyranny. They have been caught on video attacking women because they do not have a mask while walking down a street. Police and the army are entering homes without a warrant if they think you are violating COVID restrictions. They have imposed effectively Marshal Law ignoring all human rights and have enforced an 8pm curfew. They have destroyed over 400,000 jobs as Melbourne’s lockdown is labeled the worst EVER breach of Aussie freedoms. They have imprisoned their people with complete stay-at-home orders as well. Meanwhile, we may see a revolution emerge in Australia as well as the government has stated that wearing masks may be a permanent change to daily life for years to come.

Many are starting to question if Gates or others have simply bribed politicians to turn against their own people in these dramatic ways. You cannot throw away all the liberty of the people under the pretense of protecting them while brutally attacking people for not having a mask. Obviously, Melbourne will no longer be a place for business travelers. These restrictions will wipe out their economy for years to come.

    Great news everyone!

It seems that COVID cures cancer as urgent referrals are down by 20% on last year.

Unfortunately for me the same can't be said for cataract surgery. Finally saw the consultant face to face (video or phone appointments not too effective when it comes to eye assessments.....) this week after a 2 month wait, but he has no idea when I will actually be operated on. May need to bite the bullet and shell out to go privately

I assume you are being sarcastic SB. Seems to me that a hospital, doctor's surgery, medical centre etc is one of the last places anyone will go near unless they really have to, in these new normal Covid times. No surprise referrals are down with many not going near anyone who might refer you.

It's time the NHS was completely reopened and it's a real concern as to whether it should have been closed in the first place.

There are 2 million routine cancer screenings that haven't been done, or that was the number a few weeks ago anyway, probably more now. I'm waiting for the bowel cancer screening that used to get sent out every two years to over-60s. I would have been expecting it in May, after my birthday. This is something you do at home and send back, so no need to go near any scary hospitals. How many undetected cancers amongst that 2 million?

I had mine a little while ago Stroller, it seemed not far off the right date

But the lovely girlie "squeeze a breast between two ice cold metal plates " screen was put off by about 6 months, even though the mobile unit was parked a 100 yards from my house during lockdown, I now have to go to Wycombbe hospital miles away next week. Joy!

Universities have just gone into melt down as the u turn on A levels means that the status of all the offers made in clearing last week is now up in the air. I know of at least one course at a leading Russell Group University which has capacity for 250 first years and now may have to cope with 400 if all original offers and clearing offers are honoured.

As was said in Scotland last week, this addresses a short term political pressure, but removes credibility from the whole education system for this particular cohort of kids.

Now would seem to be the sensible time to be asking ourselves some pretty basic questions in a cross party, long term kind of way -
    - what kind of state health care provision do we want and how much are we prepared to pay for it? Should it be ready for unusual but at some (unpredictable) time inevitable events like a pandemic?
    - what is our attitude to the elderly and vulnerable, who’s responsibility is it to care for them?
    - what is education for? If it’s to make sure everybody gets what they want in an endless parade of improving grades, first class degrees, taught Masters degrees, long term individual debt and profitable but narrow tertiary education, let’s be upfront about it. Oddly, when university education was the preserve of the elite, much less than 10% of 18 years olds going for it, society was much more equal in terms of the gap between rich and poor.
    - it is evident that our economy is built on shopping and eating. This has consequences.

The virus has given us a once in a generation opportunity to reset our expectations of government and each other, just as the Second World War did. But I doubt that we have the energy to do this and the government with an 80 seat majority certainly doesn’t have the incentive (it would be the same whatever shade of government). So we’ll end up kind of where we were before but a bit ****ter and a lot poorer.
