It's nice to see someone doing something original, you don't get a lot of pub rock bands playing the same old ****, fair play to you.

 

Must admit, in all honesty, in all my years, I've never known such a self indulgent individual as yourself. Normally musicians encourage others to participate, but all i ever read about is you, you, you. It's boring bro.

Btw you had a decent drummer, but i guess he dumped you.

 

I've questioned him in the past on this, he claimed he delivered what his clientele wanted, says all we need to know. I could never play something I hated, not even for money.

 

Same shhite, different day.

 

Why play what people want? **** that play what you like.

 

If they’re paying if sort of makes it a prerequisite mate.

That’s not how the pub band scene works though eh. The pub books the band and pays them based on the idea they’ll generate footfall and increase wet sales.

Yeah and that's how **** pub bands work but HAIG seems to think he transcends that despite all the evidence suggesting otherwise.

 

He patently doesn’t and never has.

The mark of a good musician is somebody who can listen to what other people are playing and compliment them. That's what being in a band is all about. Like football, it's team work. You need to be able to blend your skills with those around you rather than thinking you're the man and trying to dominate. If you do that, it all comes tumbling down. The worst ****ing thing in a band is some **** who thinks he's better than everybody else and stamps all over the sound.

Guitarists and Drummers can be the ****ing worst of the lot too. Trying to show off, playing loud and over the top of everything. When you're in a band, less is more. You have your part to play and you need to let the whole sound do the talking. Being able to listen is as important as being able to play.

 

Yup, I call him self indulgent, because with every conversation it's about what he knows. It's never about what do you think of this, or would that be better. He claims to be constantly learning, yet despite all of the endless musical threads, he never puts up evidence of what he is learning. It's about sharing as a musician guaging opinion, that's the learning. I've put countless learning vids up on here, he's never contributed a single one. Why, because it's always about him.
