Gordon, Meyler and Campbell... How badly do we need them back. Hopefully Meyler is back in a couple weeks, Gordon by late October and then we will have to wait and see for Campbell.. Also interestingly.. does Campbell and Meyler live together, just been on their twitter and looks like they do... that's what I call good team spirit!
NOT Cabaye, Tiote and Ben Arfa as the filth would have you believe. All 3 of them are GASH IMO like. Bart
Agreed, all 3 would be very welcome back in the side. Campbell if 100% would be the perfect partner for Bendtner.
They wouldn't walk in, they'd run in! http://www.nufcblog.com/2011/09/29/newcastle-have-the-hardest-working-midfield-in-premier-league/
Don't worry about Master Simpson. He has been dropped on his head a few too many times! Facts seemingly confuse the poor lad.
This started out as a 100% Sunderland rated thread and then voila, master-simpson, a mackem, turned it into yet another argument thread for what appears to be absolutely no reason whatsoever. Anyway, I don't understand how Campbell would walk into the side? He scored 1 goal in 10 apps at Spurs and then scored 4 goals in 31 apps for you guys. I'll be honest here, that's a pretty woeful record, so I must be missing something if he's rated here so much...
Now you know that stats don't tell the whole story, so behave. The lad was really beginning to look the part when the injury hit. Looked like he was a Premier player.
They don't, but I hope you can see where I'm coming from considering I haven't paid much attention to him. He's a 24 year old striker and he's scored 4 goals in 34 apps. The fact that he bagged 21 goals in 31 apps for Royal Antwerp and 15 goals in 34 apps for Hull City would suggest to me that he's prolific in the lower leagues but has so far struggled to match the quality in the EPL. Correct me if I'm wrong there, just how it seems. Maybe he does have something in him I haven't seen.
Well that would appear to be the case if so many people are eager to have him back in the starting 11
You see, I know what you mean about the goals, but that's not the whole story. I had my doubts about him, but I genuinely felt that he had made a quantum leap and had improved immensely. Thing is, as I said in an earlier post, I fear that he will not come back from the injury.
Don't get me wrong, some strikers may not score many goals but can form formidable partnerships with other strikers which lead to a lot of goals. Bellamy is one such player who never scored a prolific amount, but worked very well with Shearer to help him back more than he usually would have. Hope he does return. He has nout to do with my team but I hate to see any player injured when they have such a passion to play football.
I know exactly what you are saying chapaz about Campbell and I would guess many a Sunderland fan thought the same when we first saw him. Loads of pace and a good attitude but not a convincing premiership striker. That was, for me, until he was moved from the right wing and became a striker, the lad changed my opinion very quickly. He was looking very good but sadly I'm not sure we will see that again.
Campbell, when he first picked up his injury, was as good as Welbeck was for us last season - he was looking every bit a cracking centre forward and, on that form, would get into the team without problem - but, as has been said, I think his injuries may have finished him.
Don't think so....Gordon and Meyler have stronger competition now, and will have tgeir work cut out to gain a place...(Although Gordon is our best g'k) Campbell, no idea....don't expect him to play for some time, but fingers crossed.
