I'm not a huge fan of the 'mag-free' idea, but it has certainly focused attention on what people post. That's probably not a bad thing as it will hopefully make some wums and name-callers reconsider. "To see ourselves as others see us" and all that. Fingers crossed.

The thing is the only ones going to whine about it aren't the more reasonable Mag posters. The only ones who will complain are the ones who deliberately set out to disrupt threads.
All you have done is isolate your fall outs into the "Mag Free" posts! It certainly was not our fault you were all looking to wage war on each other!!!
Their board is filling up with threads about it now. We're all wimps who bleat when they take the piss, obviously, rather than people who get sick of the stupid wums who **** up threads and the banter with the decent mags.
The wumming (from what I can see) is very little. To think you guys would not have been the same to us is ridiculous. In fact I am certain on the original 606 it was worse..... Truth is you seemingly cannot handle the banter. We all know you will improve anyway so man up and take the abuse for now!
I can't say this on the other thread as it's closed, so I'll say it here. This whole idea is largely a flawed concept. From the sounds of what the mods have said, people have complained about mag activity who aren't the usual culprits who throw insults. As I can only see the 'usual culprits' using this 'mag free' rule (the people who throw insults at any mag who dares enter), those who have complained with a genuine concern are still going to have to deal with mag activity on the many other threads, so what does it solve? I don't condone the activity of mag wums who constantly spout **** on here, but they will continue to do it as long as there are threads available, and there will be. I honestly just can't see the outcome working to solve any issue here. And for the record, I think 80% of fights wouldn't start if certain mackems kept their gobs shut and didn't incite flaming for absolutely NO reason whatsoever. Just because this is the Sunderland board, it shouldn't mean that all Sunderland supporters have free reign to chuck abuse and pretty much disrupt threads of other members on a regular basis. I know if I made threads on the Newcastle board which were then disrupted by a mag attacking a mackem I'd tell him to shut his hole. I don't know why some don't do it more here because it must be annoying at times. I've seen some threads with great potential descend into chaos just because I, or another mag, has chimed in with a fair and genuine opinion, only to get replies of "we don't care **** off back to your own board" and so on. Anyway, that's enough from me on the subject. What's done is done.

I got negative rep once from a Newcastle supporter who abused me for conversing on the Sunderland board The genuine mag posters (like me) will complain because we're all getting tarred with the same brush. Due to some mag wums who have absolutely nout to do with me, I am personally now banned from select threads, even if there are some I'd genuinely like to participate in without any fuss. I doubt it's going to bother me too much in the long run. Just the principle of it is somewhat frustrating, especially when it's unlikely to be of much help.

Aye, i got LOTS of that from SAFC fans. Sad state of affairs IMO, we're ****ing rivals, but some of my best pals are Mags, i know a couple of your lads , a coupls are pals on facey, a few more i play a bit xbox with occassionaly, why shouldn't i? My bird and my dad are Mags, i speak to them every day!
I did see the point he was making, but i've spoken to 5-1 in person, we play a bit xbox live, he's a canny kid, just ill advised in his words last night, for sure.
Fair points, Collocini's hair and Chappaz. No doubt that some mags have been abused on here just for being mags, which is daft. There's no perfect answer, but hopefully this debate will help resolve the real problem, which is good threads clogging up with crap.
Well I can't argue with that I suppose. Try away I just hope some of the more interesting debates don't have the 'mag free' tag because it'll be slightly frustrating being unable to join in.
