Because they've been asked to due suspension and allegations from the buyers. Just a simple statement yes Let me know when you figure it out
You're chasing the impossible dream, mate. The PL repeatedly said they wouldn't comment on it. On top of that, they aren't going to pass (or fail) it. Your options are much like they are under the ownership of Mike Ashley - put up/shut up or give up. I've given up. If a ball is kicked and it's Ashley/Bruce/Charnley, I'm utterly done. I've given up entirely on a KSA takeover - and I'm not sure it ever existed how we thought it would. We'll see if there's another bid, but I doubt it. This was a shell of a club under Ashley. Now it's not even under Ashley it's a dead husk.
I think the PL wouldn't feel there is enough heat on them to force them to make a statement. Its hardly big front page news, its died a death as news similar to most trash news headlines. I'm sure in the city of Newcastle there is a swell of feeling this needs explained and anger. Understandable given something underhand appears to have taken place (not sure why anyone in surprised by this in the world of business let alone something as corrupt as football). However the rest of country don't really give a flying **** and its already old news. They probably will make a statement just for completeness but I wouldn't hold your breath on it being anything meaningful. They've managed to see off the Saudis successfully on behalf of their makers, so why get too involved again. Bit of lip service maybe but they can just keep repeating that the bid was withdrawn and they had to go through their procedures. It'll include something like "We don't apologise for the robustness of our checks, it is important the PL integrity is maintained". What people appear to be hanging their hat on here, is similar to constructive dismissal in employment. i.e. the employer has breached a contract and therefore the employee can resign and claim constructive dismissal as a direct result of their actions. I get that, but what contract have the PL breached? Their own owner/director checks? Is there a set format that must take? It depends how inked that process is.
If only Keith knew his arse from his elbow eh. That useless **** is not a credible source. He's another who has switched his position daily so he can get ****ed.
They’ve only been asked to comment by the ombudsman literally today. So they’ll no doubt reply, with a response that mentions COVID, their resources being focussed on operation restart and the rest of the time was merely them doing their due diligence, waiting for responses to questions asked etc. It won’t placate you lot at all, and you’ll continue crying about supposed corruption that you’ve decided to invent.
The corruption is real. The irony is that we wanted our own version so the corrupt big 6 became the corrupt magnificent 7.
A wise man once said... Everybody's wrong everybody's right Someone must be wrong when someone else is right Everybody's wrong everybody's right You tell me that I'm wrong Then you tell me that I'm right
A tea time takeover update has arrived from Keith Downie, who’s revealed what ‘sources close’ to Mike Ashley have just told Sky Sports News about his ongoing attempts to sell up to the Saudi-backed consortium. Keith Downie @SkySports_Keith Sources close to Mike Ashley have told us he’s continuing dialogue with the Saudi-backed consortium over the potential takeover of Newcastle United. We’ve been informed he’s personally trying to resolve the situation and is 100% committed to finding a way to do so #NUFC
The corruption isn’t real, it’s completely unsubstantiated and is merely a concocted invention that avoids Toon fans having to face the actual reality of the takeover itself and then it’s subsequent demise. Suggesting that the key stakeholders and commercial partners aren’t allowed an opinion and their views had no place being aired was abject nonsense. Particularly in relation to BeIN who are paying the PL clubs £500m for the rights to that region, are the leagues largest overseas partner, and were being openly shafted by SA in terms of both piracy & blocking their access to SA. So their legitimate complaint has merely been spun into ‘corruption’, it’s horse ****.
