It really doesn't matter, though. That this consortium are relying on ****ing Twitter should set off alarm bells everywhere.
The Ombudsman makes direct contact now.. All this pressure yet they've not simply just said.. "They withdrew sorry it was complicated........ Go figure
We can only go off what is official. And PIF have officially withdrawn via a statement issued. "With a deep appreciation for the Newcastle community and the significance of its football club, we have come to the decision to withdraw our interest in acquiring Newcastle United Football Club" Not to put too fine a point on it, the subsequent claims etc is all just speculation and hearsay. As it stands, the official news is that its withdrawn. Doesn't mean its over, but it does mean the previous offer is no longer on the table.
Sorry what are the PL trying to decide? They can't accept a withdrawn bid. The PL have made their decision by not making their decision and forcing the buyers away from the table. All this speculation about not having withdrawn the offer is just that. We do actually have in print that the offer was withdrawn. I think people are trying to find things that aren't there. I understand it because Staveley caused this with her comments. That's not to say the bid can't be very quickly resurrected and finalised. The hard yards have been done and unless anything particularly material to the bid occurs, revisiting it won't be difficult. It will be difficult to make it happen in the right timeframe though, this will be far messier timing wise and people like the Saudis don't like that.
Why are people finding it so hard to believe that this is off. PIF have pulled the deal. There won't be a second chance. I do believe we will be sold in the near future but it won't be to the Saudis.
Well there was nothing they stavely did wrong.. It isn't down anyone bein a chancer... It was all done.
Ah right so this is relating to those comments. This doesn't change that the bid has been withdrawn. This has been confirmed by the major players. All Staveley was hinting at is that it could be resurrected. A week or two away from here, I forgot this place is terrible for just making **** up - my bad Personally I think you can forget the Saudis, they don't like being messed around. Perhaps Staveley can create a new consortium, but I liked the Saudis being involved. There is a stamp of excellence which comes with it, like Abu Dhabi. They make **** happen through financial might.
